What would make a release better?

Post by shadowlore on Mon Feb 15, 2010 1:00 am

If you controlled a release what would you do to make it more fun? For example, I would make it longer and a tad bit less descrptive. I would want only 1 map and more items. Your thoughts?

I want the opposite, more plotline/descriptive content and less items, as AQW has kinda been on a repetitive track so far in terms of plot.

Hmmm. New armor. Maybe some new pets. I like cats. Does that help?

To make a release more fun, I would probably make a release have a very long quest chain. and maybe only have releases every month or two weeks so they can work on completing more areas at once.

Just a suggestion, HARDCORE MODE.
Just AQW, but harder, and more hardcore.

But I'd agree with the giant quest chains. Maybe even a couple of wars at a time. I mean if they release a zone where you have the quest chains and your fighting towards the boss, then you find another load of quests, plus a new war. I'd be over the moon! Plenty to do, with a couple of kick-I love this clan! items thrown in.

If I were them, I'd not do any releases for a month, and take a vacation from our complaining giving the noobs time to catch up, and when we believe AE has deserted us-- BOOM! We can suddenly do PvP-- the current PTR ones plus a map where it's every man for himself, not to mention we can suddenly create guilds and buy cities, where the founder can invite people in, and members can donate Gold, and later on ACs to the guild treasury so that we can buy 20 million gold strongholds, where we can decorate it, and there can be custom guild ranks where the "mods" have some kind of powers over the guild, ie. decorating the stronghold/city/w/e and stuff like that, not to mention GUILD WARZ! That saves the time of having to create 5 new wars themselves, so instead, when players are bored, they can go fight in a war! Oh yeah, did I mention that by donating your ACs to the clan, meaning that the clan leader can purchase certain different monsters, and place them throughout their chosen spots in their city/stronghold, and when that guild is in a war against another clan, those monsters can only attack intruders. (My idea of guild wars, is that, the war is fought by choosing to invade the other cuild's city/stronghold, and fighting the members/placed monsters (who have a ranged AI). or by staying and choosing to defend your city. Just like the MQ auto-scaler, the number of victories required should vary for each side, in case one guild has, say 807 members, and one has 200.) That could be VERY pleasing. ^^

*takes a breath* Did I go on too much? And oh, yeah, think this would make a nice AEForums suggestion post?

New classes. I know they don't want to have to rework them for stats, but seriously? Why can they give us Doom Knight, but not a bunch more classes?

Better items. The items they are bringing out are rushed/ugly.

My ideal release would be one that contains no items, and only game mechanics.
