The book didn't engage me. I tried reading it, but then I found other things to do with my time.

I frankly couldn't care less about the books, but seeing lots of people boo the books, I can't help but wonder if Stephenie Meyer is the Cacofonix of writing. Apparently, she let fame go to her head and thinks she's quite skilled, while plenty say otherwise, just like Cacofonix, who thinks his awful singing is the best.

Well, i am dissapointed to say that i read all of the books, no i didnt enjoy it, but i didn't hate it, i just read them to pass the time. I didn't really like anything romancey in the books, but i kinda liked the action.

Re: Twilight

I read the first book before the whole hoopla of "Twilighters" came into play and even then, I wasn't really engaged by the story - same ol', same 'ol but with vampries thrown into the mix. I tend to finish series I start so I ended up reading all four books. It may be just me but I thought the last one was only Meyer's attempt to prolong the "fame" of Twilight, rather than be an important part of the story as a whole - the storyline in itself was unnecessary and there was a considerably larger number of obvious errors in the book (mostly spelling) - it seemed rushed and not thoroughly looked over.

The movies... Well. I'm not going to comment on that. I'll let the numerous videos, pictures, blogs etc about the hilariously exaggerated facial expressions of the actors/actresses speak for themselves. *

The bad part about Twilight is now a lot of the players in AQW associate vampires with Twilight - it's obvious in the forums. Loads of Twilight references, Twilight jokes, Twilight being the blame for all the lycan supporters etc... Even if you were neutral about Twilight before, the constant allusions get tiring.

I do beleve AQW is made up almost completely of twilight haters. For incdence, i walked into lycanwar and the first thing i read is-

"TAKE THAT YOU STUPID SPARKLY FAIRIES!"

But thats off-topic.

I read the first book and i abandoned it, i've read a lot better vampire love stories in my time. And the movie shouldn't even exsist. Twlight being the movie that seemed to bring back intrest into vampires. But in a bad way. I mean, whos brilliant idea was to make them sparkle in the sun? Vampires have as far as i can remember are ment to burn to death by the sun....

That would be because the author did absoulutley no research into vampires before writing Twilight (she addmited this) In fact, the only people who would like this sort of story are the Paris Hilton fairy-tale kids, the ones who think that life is all about finding some big dark guy who loves you... The ones who are just so rich and spoiled that they live in a fantasy world themselves. I will conclude with a quote from a real author, Steven king: "the real difference [between J.K. Rowling and Meyer] is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer, and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good."
(edit) In all honesty, Twilight is the result of Stephanie Meyer having a wet dream, it became famous for no logical reason (although explaiable) and the world has become divided into two groups: THe ones that love it and worship Meyer, and the ones who hate all this stuff, I am in the latter, as is Steven King (Who is one of the best writers of all time) BOOYAH!

No swearing please.

I have to admit that you are right about some parts but there is a neutral, i am no longer in that neutral zone though because of my sister, who acts like a moron over twilight. I MEAN COMON!!! EDWARD IS JUST A FICTIONAL CHARACTER DON'T GET A LARGE CARDBOARD CUTOUT OF HIM, ITS RIDICULOUS. not to mention she likes to put it in random places around the house to scare the heck out of me.

No swearing please.

My girlfriend has three large posters of Edward in her room. Needless to say, awkward. :/

BTW, on twitter, one of the Trending Topics was the fact Avatar just beat Titanic. It asked what the people of twitter thought the best movie OF ALL TIME was/should be.

Over half the people said Twilight.
