It kind of ticks me off that people insist on Canadians having an accent when in a whole Canadians can not in the slightest here there own accents. Everyone has an accent. People don't really notice their own one, but can pick out regional or other national accents, like in NZ, Southerners (Otago and Southland) roll their r's, Cantabrians don't roll as much.

In the case of me speaking "Canadian", it was my customers that pointed it out. One commented that I sounded like her son's girlfriend (from Vancouver) and another customer thought I was a fellow Canadian immigrant and asked what part of the country I was from. My normal speaking voice is more "throaty", but I switched to something a bit more nasal, since it reduced jaw movement and thus the pain.

I apologise if I had offended you with my comments, Darre.

Also, another 2 things that tick me off
- Tower Insurance ads: They are pathetic and on at least twice every ad break
- Steam ninja-updating games while I'm on-peak and lagging the hell out of my internet.

The one thing I keep forgetting...

The Christian and Pro-Life groups who block the main library entrance at Uni. So in order to get in you have to talk to them for several minutes and receive a flyer before you are allowed to pass through. Same goes for Greenpeace, except they block the path between the bookshop and the UCSA building but are less in-your-face.
