Moving Points To The Forums

Hey everyone! It seems that of late, the TR Cons have been giving more than 25,000 points a Con. Now that just seems like a lot, and especially for just a single Con. Now it would be quite easy to move some point related things to the forums from the Cons (like the game show, it could be held in the Chat Box where everyone could have a chance). We could also get some new things on to the forums, like this idea I came up with:

So someone will put up a a task for you to do on AQW every once and a while. The person(s) to complete the task and video tape/screencast it will receive a reward. Points will be most common, but every once and a while, when I put up something really hard, then there will be bonus prizes. Some jobs may run through multiple people, in other words, may be submitted by many people and the first x number of people to do it, or group that completes it within x time and stuff like that also may be used. Groups are only sometimes allowed.


Job Wall (Examples) -

Dragon Lancer
Rules: Defeat Vasalkar in a two on one match. Both members must be from TR. You may not rest, but if one person dies, then they cannot rejoin the battle. Healing by other means than resting are allowed. PTR not allowed.
Run Time: First Video Submitted
Reward: 500 Points for each person


Noob Hunt -
Rules: Defeat as many Orc Noobs as possible within 1 minute of the start of your video. 1 person per video only. PTR not allowed.
Run Time: 5 Days
Reward: 300 Points

I also think it would be nice to lower the amount of points from the Con, to make the people who can't make it/get kicked out feel better. Also, what's the deal with making room for the people who have been here for a while, it just makes it so they can never get in to the Cons.

I agree with having some more forum competitions, but holding contests in the chatbox is pretty much the same as doing it over AQW, making that pointless.

There is one major difference though... Every TR member can come ;)

Yes, we do, but even so, would you rather do it there or here? We at least eliminate one out of two problem in the Chat Box.

I think maybe we should have a mod watch, or something, not always just a video, or picture, so that those without ability to take screenies or shoot videos can still compete. Achievements could be a thing. We could have a giant achievement page, where member names under completed achievements can be listed, and points can be awarded for them. Days for people to attempt an achievement could also be set, so that many people could try and make it less hectic, and random.

This seems like a lot of work for mods/admins. The way I see it, we could have more forum events(like we have had before), and just wait until we can fix the timezone for cons problems. Sorry, gonna give this a no. ;(

Perhaps over-time contests?
This would get rid of the time zone problem, and there wouldn't be as much work for mods.
Could be art, story-telling anything.

Maybe new mods for the specific idea Charon? If that doesn't work for you, I guess there is not a way to convince.

Yeah, as seen in the spoiler i put up, there could be over time contests, or contests randomly put up, giving everyone a chance.

Well, before, we have had contests such as art, coloring, writing, etc. I'll talk to vamp and see if we can get any more of those up for you guys. ^^

... We have one contest... And it finished ages ago :/ I think we should have more contests, and a contest mod team or admin. They can assign points to contests and are responsible for making sure that the contests are fair and well organized... I also want to be part of that team :P I have ideas too you know... You know... The comic? And the Bounty wall thing too.

Psst, you still need to put up the results of your Pink is the new Black contest. :p

Well, I am pretty sure we have enough mods to pull that off without adding more mods, it just seems like more trouble than it's worth to me. Don't worry, I told Vamp about you guys wanting more forums contests, and we shall be bringing them out ASAP. ^^

Also, Caeel, while it's wonderful that you want to help and we appreciate it, you should probably refrain from asking to be a mod.
