Rising
This Roleplay takes place in 2010 and a new race of Monsters have risen. The people in this are the descendants of monsters themselves (Vampires Werewolves, and many more, you can even be cursed). Our weapons consist of crossbows, swords, revolvers etc. But no modern day weapons). You make up your own name, and I'm trying to limit it to 10 people. We can make up monsters along the way, but please no AE monsters. Happy ARPing!
I am Collin Gray, and I was asleep, when I found a cat person over my bed. It clawed my chest to a point where my organs should've been hanging out, but instead it just healed. I had no idea what happened, so I hit it as hard as I could, and it died after a few punches. It was then when I realized I was the great great great grandson of Dorian Gray*. a few years later I designed a team filled with monsters and cursed, and even a few sorcerers. Many of them had died, but lets go back to the day they signed up.
*Dorian Gray was featured in a novel call "The Picture of Dorian Gray" Where a person sold his soul to the devil. and the devil put all of his mortality into a picture. In this I have a picture but it heals me when I look at it.

Re: Rising
The day my brother burst into my room shouting about a cat-person, I thought for sure he was talking about a crazy dream. Instead of believing him--and, seriously, who would?--I just said, "Calm down, Collin. It can't have been that much more interesting than any other dream you've had. Really, the one with the fleet of space fish was--"
"It wasn't a dream," he interrupted. "Lissy--I swear, there was a cat person in my room and it tried to kill me."
I laughed at him. Now, normally Collin's a trustworthy kid, but this was too ridiculous to believe. "If that's so, how'd you get away?"
He shrugged helplessly. "I killed it, just by hitting it. Come look, Lissy, it's still there."
I gave him an odd look, but followed him into his bedroom.
It lay there on the ground before us, leaving me in no doubt as to its existence. It really did look like something between a human and a cat. Were-cat? I wondered. That was the best word I could come up with to describe it. A face with clear traces of the human and feline; fur covering its body; furred but otherwise mostly human hands and feet ending in claws; a long tail: this was the creature that had attacked my brother. Between its claws and its size, I was astonished he had survived. In fact...
I knelt to look more closely at its hands, where the fur appeared to be matted and scarlet. Yes--on closer inspection, that was definitely blood. Collin was far from stupid enough to try and get a creature like this off of him by injuring its hands, so I turned to look at him. "This is your blood, isn't it?" I asked, trying to hide my shock.
He nodded. "I don't know what happened, or how I survived..."
It took several days' searching and the contents of a musty old trunk to give us the answer. The newest item in the trunk was a piece of paper with a family tree on it. Upon inspection of the names, we recognized the last two tiers as our parents and grandparents. I took out a pencil and drew in another line, and two more, and wrote two names: Collin Gray and Alyssa Gray. I wasn't worried that we were doing something wrong. After all, we'd just made it pretty clear: we were part of this family, too.
((How's this for take-that-backstory-and-run-with-it?))

Re: Rising
We stepped up to the house the tracks had led us to: a nice little house, but peculiar for a spot to feed.
Shadowbane, the uh man next to me nodded, as if in agreement. "Why have she be fed here?"
"Hm? Oh, Scarlet. It is quite unusual, she usually feeds on--"
"The rich, high upper classmen. I would say this house is average, perhaps a little higher at best..."
I looked to Shadowbane, who readied a revolver. Shadowbane was strange, he was made of a dark entity with large, yellow-orange eyes. He used to look more unusual. he used to be a dark energy ball. He was exposed to earth, and was changed into the shape of a human.
He bounded off, into the house, pointing the revolver every which way, and signaling it was clear. I bounded in after, breaking the door clean off with my large size.
"Scarlet?! Where are you!" Yelled Shadowbane.

Re: Rising
While I was in the attic, I found a small wooden box. "Hey Lissy, what's that?" I crawled over to it, and opened it up. inside was a small folded silver mechanism. Lissy asked for the box, so I gave it to her. The box read Dorian Gray. I was fiddling with the mechanism when he found a small silver trigger. I suddenly heard someone downstairs, and squeezed the trigger. the mechanism slid, then unfolded into a large silver and wood crossbow. On the side all it said was "Gray".

Re: Rising
Rolf Nightfang walked slowly around the city, Even though in this time, the "new ones" had controll over the world, he couldnt help but think,"Im a monster, the cursed werewolf blood that lies within me," a tear rolled down his cheeck,"what was his place, what was his meaning." Grey skies rolled over the city casting it in a dome of gloom. He had noone, his family had been long ago murdered by those who considered his kind, evil. "There is no worth to me," he thought. Looking at his reflection in nearby pond, a question crossed his mind,"who really is that person who stares back at me?" Little did he know that the question whould soon be ansewered.

Re: Rising
Lissy and I walked downstairs, and saw 2 people we didn't know. Collin, out of sheer terror, pointed the crossbow, and shot. He didn't remember loading it, but it hit one of the intruders in the arm. The intruders ran to another room. "Who were those guys?" Collin asked Lissy. "I don't know, but I don't think they're here to be friendly." Collin came back out from the stairs, and shot where the intruders fled to. Collin had no idea where the arrows were coming from. He looked closer when he shot. and saw the arrow appear out of dust. What was with this dust thing? Collin wondered. Lissy walked down the stairs quickly, and got their great great grandpa's cane, then ran back up the stairs. She searched the side of the cane, until she found a latch. When she pulled on it, pieces of the wood came out into what looked like a strap. "How did you know about that?" Collin asked Lissy. "Dad showed me, OH CRAP DAD!" She ran up stairs, to their room, leaving Collin there to fight the intruders.

I pulled an arrow out of my arm. "Ow, listen, kid, we're not here to fight. we're here because we're observers, we follow our uh...pet cat around and record the results." I handed him a book, which held in it's pages Scarlets whereabouts since 2 years ago that day.
"I wouldn't try to kill us if I were you... I do dabble in bounty hunting." Shadowbane replied, raising a revolver.

Re: Rising
I was stunned. "Um, Im not sure what your name is, but I kind of killed Scarlet....." I heard a scream from upstairs, and wondered if we had actually killed it. I ran up to my parents room, and what I saw made made me sick. The cat had disemboweled his parents. Out of sheer rage Collin loaded his crossbow and ran downstairs yelling with rage. "YOU KILLED MY PARENTS!" Collin forgot about his crossbow, and suddenly felt an object in his hand. He thrust whatever he had in his hand into the intruder with the black robe. He then noticed the large curved dagger in his hand.

Re: Rising
Shadowbane gasped for air. He quickly regenerated and picked Colin up by his collar. I gasped as he aimed his revolver to his temple, threatening, "Listen, TWERP. I can save your parents, but it will take time. please escort us to the cat so that I can dispose of her!"
I gasped, never had I seen such anger from him.

Re: Rising
(Just so you know our parents are supposed to die)
I squirmed as much as I could, but this guy had an iron grip. I wondered how the dagger got into my hand. And I wondered if I'll survive this. I focused hard on what it would be like to have his crossbow right now, then he felt dust in his hand, then solid wood. His crossbow had appeared, but it quickly disappeared into dust. When they made it to his room, I tried to get out of shadowbanes grip, and suddenly fell out. I had turned into dust and went through his grip. Shadowbane looked down and saw that he had gotten out, and was coming back together on the ground, and smiled.

Re: Rising
Erik stumbled through the streets, drunkard-like, to trick people into thinking he was just another drunken idiot like the town had many of. Under the veil over his full body, his shadowy figure was hidden. Erik was six feet five inches tall, and was the full embodiment of ice.
Back when he was a boy, Erik used to always love to play in the snow with his friend, Jacob. They used to have so much fun together, making snow angels, and having snowball fights. Then one day, Jacob and Erik were playing hide and seek. Erik's mom was washing his coat, so he wasn't supposed to be outside, but he sneaked out anyway. Jacob was counting slowly, up to fifty, when Erik sprinted quickly to his snow fort. He dashed into the small enclosement, and closed the top over himself so Jacob couldn't find him. Erik fainted from the harsh cold.
Jacob looked for Erik for days, while Erik's mom cried in a frenzy. The snow piled up a couple feet, a record high, and Erik was sealed away deeper, barely alive. Meanwhile, a nuclear power plant was changing uranium rods inside the generators, and a clumsy, new worker accidentally set the machine starting power wrong. The uranium rods heated up the generator too quickly, and the steam could not be cooled back into water fast enough. Finally, a nuclear meltdown occurred, and radiation spilled deep throughout the world.
Erik's area was hit pretty hard with it, and the radiation first melted the lower areas of snow. Erik was stilled buried, while the water froze again, this time into ice, enclosing Erik. Then, the radiation continued to spread, and fused him with the ice, making him part human, part ice. He now had steel-strong skin, could create weapons out of non-melting ice, and was unrecognizable from what he used to be.
The effects of his mutation were too much for him to bear, being only 15 when the accident ocurred. He went on a crime spree, and always got away with his capers, from his ability to hide, or freeze onto walls. After developing ninja-like agility and hiding skills, Erik began to travel, and look for a home. He got a job as a hired assassin, and worked in secret, killing monsters that threatened innocents, or the innocents themselves in some cases, depending on who had the higher price for his hiring. Erik is now trying to find a different thing to do, maybe travel the world, and fight.

Re: Rising
When I got up, it seemed like something went off in my head. I suddenly had hundreds of voices and images go through my head, and soon images of techniques with his dust raged through my head. I suddenly had knowledge on this...this thing I had obtained...not only on what it is, but on how to use it as well. I tightened my grip and my hand changed into a huge spike. I slashed at Shadowbane, who quickly backed up. "You know about your grandfather young one?" He said. I had no idea what he was talking talking about. I lunged, and stabbed right into his chest.

Re: Rising
As Erik was continuing his secret services, he noticed a house where a ruckus was occurring. The house seemed different, as if it was enveloped in darkness. He crept up to the window, and peered inside. There was a boy, and two men, who were in some kind of fight. The scene was so arcane, with a boy making weapons out of dust, and one figure being as dark as a shadow. The voices in Erik's head said,
"Should I go inside and see what is going on?"
"Or should I stay outside and wait to catch whoever it is as they leave?"
Erik decided to walk inside, and the sight he saw amazed him...

Re: Rising
I looked at the new intruder right before I crushed the skull of the intruder with the white suit with my arm (which was now a huge gray spike). "Oh my god, another one?" I shot the dust at the man in the white suit, and it hardened to form a type of hard rock caccoon. Shadowbane was now passed out on the ground from the huge gaping hole in his chest. "You get out of here before I put this through your head!" I pointed the spike at him. The man had a challenging look on his face. "Seriously? You're just a kid!" I focused and shot a large cloud of dust*. The cloak was shredded, revealing that the man was made out of ice.
*If the dust is shot out at a fast enough speed its basically like a sand blaster.

Rolf again walked around in his never ending misery that clawed at him with no stop. He saw the cloaked man that let a off a cold aura go into a house. Rolf's curiosity drove him to sneak into this mysterious house. What ever was going on in this house, he wanted to find out. He had nothing better to do with his life, he already considered him a waste. A human werewolf hybrid such has himself didnt deserve to have friends, or so Rolf thought. He traveled with noone and rarely talked to anyone but his curiosity drove him to get into to lot of other's business.
He crept silently into the house and saw a boy over a beaten man and the cloaked figure. Now he could see that this figure was made of...ICE. Rolf gaped in amazement. What had he gotten himself into now? At least noone could see him...for now.
