Wolfs are unrated like seriously vampires are too common and have twilight under there belts...the only cool vampire is alucard (drakula backwards)

Re: Vampire or Lycan?
I pretty much don't want to hear anything about Vampires after Twilight "Middle School-Girlified them", so-to-speak. Also, I like the big claws and teeth of the Lycan over the Vampire. Yet, I am not going to bash Vampires, because blood sucking is one of my favorite pastimes XD
So, in Vampire vs Lycan, I choose Werepyre, but in Vampire vs Lycan minus werepyre, I choose Lycan.

"Twilight" is so not the symbol of Vampires. More like "Underworld" and "Blade".
You also forgot Lestat, Alucard and Lestat... and Selene.

Re: Vampire or Lycan?
well it sorta depends on where the vampires and werewolfs are from, like in some books werewolves are way cooler and in others, they are lame. Like in aqw, the vampires look cooler. so I chose Werepyre XD

Re: Vampire or Lycan?
I'd still stick to my choice of lycan, mainly because of the scarceness of female werewolves in most fiction, even though I have a different take on them. And no, they don't sparkle/glow.
In my story, giant werewolves are born with the condition, not cursed. These giant werewolves can control their transformations at will and have telekinesis up to a certain range. Male and female giants are a bit hard to tell apart, like real wolves, even in their non-werewolf state.
As for cursed werewolves in my story, they're somewhat similar to the conventional savage brute depicted in fiction, but if a person has been cursed for many years, he/she can eventually control themselves so that they're sentient enough to recognize friend from foe in lycan form.
*Is Stephenie Meyer the Cacofonix of writing? Cacofonix was so bad at singing that everyone instantly hated and feared it. When I said "Cacofonix of writing," I mean someone who writes so badly that she/he is thought to be the absolute rock bottom of writers.

Re: Vampire or Lycan?
I have to go with Vampires on this one. I've loved every Vampire book I've ever read from Dracula by Bram Stoker to Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. (Yes, I did read, and enjoyed Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. They're good books and sparkling vampires are only part of the story, and a minor one at that.) Vampires are generally pictured in two ways. Glamourous and sexy, or ugly and scary. I love all the mythology about Vampires as well. Things such as they can't cross running water, or they can be killed like a human in the sunlight. These myths, though unbelievable, have captured my interest for years.
Examples that I can prove wrong:
Vampires hate garlic: Vampires would need very sensitive noses to find blood, and garlic is a strong odor.
Vampires burst into flames in sunlight: No, sunlight would most likely only blind a vampire. If you lived in the dark your whole life and suddenly saw sun, you'd be blinded too.
Vampires only pray on women: No... just plain no.
Vampires turn into bats: This is just plain impossible.
Vampires are not visible in mirrors: Mirrors reflect light off of any solid object. Last I checked, vampires were solid objects.
Lastly, I will end with this. The major reason I prefer Vampires over Werewolves is romance. Compare the number of romantic vampire books to the number of romantic werewolf books, I dare you. This is the reason I read Twilight. I love romance. Also, if you ask me, Twilight's story is so good that nobody should care that the vampires sparkle. If you're judging the book on one minor plot twist, you haven't read Twilight, or anything by Stephanie Meyer.

Marth, plenty of people will disagree with you on the Twilight bit, though I've not read the book myself.

Re: Vampire or Lycan?
Lycans are somewhat boring, and fit in with the "monster" category.
On the other hand, Vampires are a more elegant, sly type. Lets say you walk into... Mmm... Maybe just a house. There are people conversing and socializing, all dressed in formal, party-attire sort of clothes.
I'll skip my blabbering and get onto the point, who are you going to be more suspicious of, bulky people with torn clothing (Lycans), or formally dressed, tall people?
Basically, when it comes to getting the kill, Vampires beat Lycans 1-0.

Re: Vampire or Lycan?
Has there been a vampire that wears casual clothes just to fit in with modern times? Just wondering.
Edit: You'd think that a vampire might disguise itself more effectively wearing casual clothes at some times, formal ones at others.

Re: Vampire or Lycan?
Well, most steriotypical Vampires originate in Romania, thats why they have a strong accent, and have a cape, suit, etc.
Also, Crystal, haven't you heard of Twilight? Edward dresses regularly.

Oh I see, but I was asking about other vamp stories that have their vampires wearing regular clothes.

hey marth there isn't any point in trying to prove a fictional race wrong about what people think of them.
