Yes, this is quite short and I should have more coming, more detailed exerts and a much more detailed exert of this. And I'd like to thank Icey for the tips.
I was only four when the war began, flightless, unprepared, and completely defenseless. I was unable to fly, but I was close, my tailfeathers had not completely grown in yet… but that wasn’t the only reason I wasn’t fully matured... My mother was a griffin of course; she served in the air defense. However, her wing was severed in battle, so now she teaches me… in the war on the dragons. Of course I’m excited but… I don’t only have feathers, I have scales. The hard part is, I am half dragon. My father is a brutal dragon warlord. I do not know what path I must choose, I was raised by griffins, for I am a Draffin in a war-plagued world…
It has been 73 years since then; my father is still on his rampage. I am a young, fully matured griffin now. Every time someone sees me fly, griffin or dragon, they admire my talent. Griffins would say, “Oh, you fly like your mother flew, such grace!”, and dragons, “You beat your wings as powerful as your father, boy!”. Yes, I am respected in both the realms of griffins and dragons, even though griffins raised me. My mother tries to influence me to join her side, but how could I ever kill my father? I want peace between these species, but no one understands! There are other Draffins however, some of them agree with me, some side with one of their parents. My closest friends agree with me, even the dragon king’s son! The dragon king is quite old, about 250 years old. He is an eastern golden pigmy dragon; His son is about one hundred times smaller than I am! I am perfectly eligible to join the griffins’ army, but not the dragons’. My father is a western ice dragon, he is able to freeze his opponents, I however, have not reached that level yet. My mother longs for me to join the griffin army but I refuse. Once I reach the potential that I can freeze opponents, I will capture both sides’ leaders, and trap them in an in-escapable chasm, where they will be forced to make peace. I knew I was close to achieving my ability, for some of my feathers are turning a light, pale blue. Capturing the leaders won’t be easy though; my friends that agree with me have to help me! I will make a group of spies!
“Grynoir!”, the dragon king’s son quietly exclaimed as we hid in the shadows in the dragon king’s room, “Are you sure about this? There are going to be problems when the people find out my father is missing!”. “Do you want peace, Lyfrick, or not?”, I replied. “Well… yes… but…”, his voice trailed off. “But how do we capture him?”, He asked. “For the thousandth time! I am going to freeze him, then I’m going to carry him to the chasm! Are we clear?”. “Yes”, Lyfrick replied. “OK… 1… 2… 3… get down there Grynoir!”. I quickly swooped down, the king to old to turn around fast enough to see me, I opened my mouth and breathed out slowly, freezing him just enough so I wouldn’t kill him. The king was now frozen solid. Lyfrick let out a screech of fright to see his father frozen. “Calm down, Lyfrick, he’ll unfreeze once we get the Griffin Master in the chasm”. “Get the Griffin Master in the chasm?! That’s suicide Gry!” Lyfrick screeched. “We have to if we want this war to end! The war will go on for several more centuries if we don’t act!”. “Oh, and I’m afraid you can’t come with me to capture the Griffin Master, you stay here, and alert the dragons your father is missing so they’ll think your innocent, and I’ll go put your father in the chasm then capture the Griffin Master”, I explained. Lyfrick tried to argue, but I flew away the second I finished talking.
After I had dropped the king in the chasm I flew towards the griffin village. I stealthily snuck in the Griffin Master’s office, after a few minutes of watching her do her duties, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, I quickly flew down. The Master sensed me and quickly hovered in the air, I only froze her back legs. Then she screeched, “Grynoir!! You traitor!” She was about to say something else before I froze her completely. I tried flying her upward to a skylight but she was too heavy, then I suddenly realized there was a entrance to the chasm under a piece of carpet! I lifted the carpet off the floor and took her to where the dragon king is. I flew to the hidden exit on the chasms ceiling, unfroze them, and quickly flew away. As I flew to meet Lyfrick, I thought, I hope they work together to get out, and don’t kill each other. I was flying so fast I barely noticed Lyfrick on top of huge plateau, I quickly flew downward and asked him why he was there, he replied, “They found out”, he looked over at me, “They know it’s us that did it… we’re outcasts now”. I looked out over the horizon and saw a larger battle than I have seen in my whole 77 years of life, the largest battle of the war, and it was my fault. My father saw and glared at me, then he suddenly let out a mighty roar that engulfed the night and started to fly at me with the intent to kill in his eyes.
Sorry I couldn't indent, I don't know why it doesn't let me.
I'm honestly been thinking about writing at least a 200-hundred page story on this, put more details, and stretch parts out.
