Sun Jan 10, 2010 10:23 am by V

Costs of ranks:
Custom Rank 7,500 Points
Colored/Bolded Rank 15,000 Points

Olympics
Olympics
So yeh, the Olympics are upon us yet again, it's wierd, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to give a damn about it. I understand it is a big thing in the global point of view but to me... nyeh. I have however found a post online that seems to cater to my opinions, hence I present to you: Mr. Ryan Sohmer:
Winter Olympics, Summer Olympics, whatever. What the world (represented in this case scenario by me) wants to see is The Medieval & Gladiatorial Olympics.
Who wants to watch a dude in a snowsuit hop around moguls when you could be seeing two guys in armor, armed with a lance and bearing down on each other riding an 800 pound horse?
Figure skating is all well and good, but I think I'd prefer watching the Russian Contender being cornered by three tigers while armed with a Swiss army knife.
Forget your indoor arenas and pretty little skating rinks. If I'm buying tickets for this thing, I want to be sitting in the Coliseum with the roar of a blood thirsty crowd behind me.
You want me to get into the Olympics? That's how you're going to do it.
Or, and here's a plan B now, you legalize all drugs and supplements and watch the mutants go.
Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one thinking.
So yeh, I wanted to make a post about this, what would you guys think about this kind of olympics? Here is a place to discuss it OR suggest other ideas and hear everyone shoot them down with AK-47's (and of course you can discuss the EXISTING Olympics and all the mayhem that follows with it)
Basically all Olympics related stuff goes here.

Re: Olympics
Wow someone else reads "Least I Could Do"
Anywho I was watching bits of the Winter Olympics, the figure skaters are wonderful, I wish I could do what they do sometimes (ie the triple axels not the slipping over).

Re: Olympics
I read LICD too :P
And I have to say, I was sorry to hear about the bobsledder who died. Looked like a nasty accident, and so close to having his dream of competing come true. :(

Re: Olympics
Did anyone hear about the loush ( think that is how you spell it) accident?
The rider was goin 175 mph (somewhere around there) down the track, hit the wall, flipped over it, and hit a pole. Sadly, he has died, not entirely sure whether it was on impact or not. God (if you believe in him) rest his soul.

Hey, I live a few streets away from Evan Lysacek, and he went to my middle school and high school. So that is pretty epic for me. The USA is kicking butt in the medal count!
