What will you give up for Lent?

What are you giving up for Lent, and why?

For those who don't know what Lent is, it's when you give something up for 40 days; from Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day :P) until Easter. Typical stuff to give up is chocolate, junk food, and things like that.

So yeah, What are you giving up?

I'm giving up eating meat, thanks to some "gentle" persuasion from my vegan girlfriend :P

Hm...I think I might give video games up (not mmos of course I mean like playstation status xD) since I play them an awful lot. I've really been playing Devil May Cry a lot lately .

I can hardly make it through Friday's without meat so that's definitley out for me to give it up all the way xD You're braver than I Chamb :P

I, being Lutheran, do not celebrate Lent, but may just give something up too, because our pastor said it is not required of us but participating is fine. If I do end up giving something up, it will be... mountain dew. Near impossible, I know.

Actually, classicly in lent, your supposed to think of God when you would be normally be doing somthing.

Wow, i was about to say is this an american thing, but Cham is english. Why? I've never heard of Lent. No one in my 14 years of living in East Anglia. O_O.

For you guys who don't know, it's a Christian/Christian-catholic (possibly more) thing, telling of the 40 days Jesus went alone to the desert without any food or water during that whole period. He was tempted many times by the devil there, but he did not give in.

So that is what we must do - give up something and not be tempted for 40 whole days.

I honestly don't know what to give up, TBH the only thing I do excessively is computer, AQW, TR, and photoshop and there is NOWAI I'm giving up them.

I'm not giving anything up for Lent this year... only year I ever did anything, I gave up staying up late reading. That was how I came by my habit of staying up late playing computer...

What can I say? I'm nocturnal at heart. There isn't anything I could give up that wouldn't leave me doing something weirder, so... I guess this year, I'm giving up giving up stuff for Lent.
