Sun Jan 10, 2010 10:23 am by V
With all the rank requests recently, I thought I'd make a central thread where they could all be requested.
Costs of ranks:
Custom Rank 7,500 Points
Colored/Bolded Rank 15,000 Points

Female Armors
Since I can't post anything like this on AEF without getting flamed, I figured I would post a thread about this here.
Topic: Female Armors, Burlesque and Unnecessary Skin
So yeah, do you think that female armors in AQW are lewd/ offensive/ etc, etc...? Personally, for a kids game, I think some are. Almost every female armor has skin showing on the thighs and cleavage showing. Why can't any modest dresses be drawn, you know?
The base tier classes and secondary tier classes: http://yfrog.com/1s86684011p
Well, discuss.

Rofl. Crystal will be all over this topic in a few seconds.
Anyway, yeah, alot unnecessary skin being shown, my guess is that AE either can't control their hormones (Thats right J6, I'm talking to you) or... Er... Not many other reasonable theories. And yes, it is a tad strong for a kids game (No, not a kids card game, Abridged Fans).

Re: Female Armors
Well, Cysero has stated that [basically] the female armors are designed with the target demographic in mind: young teenage boys.
This is one of my goals, since this mainly concerns female players who actually play as female characters.

Re: Female Armors
Im not going to say that the armors are offensive because some girls like them, like Crystal, but I do think there needs to be way more veriety, seriously AE needs to have more variation on them.

Re: Female Armors
The reason why AQW armor is almost always burlesque is because Miltonius is not skilled enough to draw less revealing clothes, and doesn't want to learn how to; since burlesque rakes in the fans!
AE should hire someone else with skill and a lower tendency to force players into burlesque, otherwise, AQW will become another cliche online game with forced revealing clothes, like Perfect World and Ragnarok.

Re: Female Armors
What's offensive and what isn't is really up to female opinion. I just think some of the skin showing on some armors is unnecessary. For example, Shadowslayer X; Big boobs, defined cleavage, used to have a patch of skin showing on the leg, Cysero's latest Twitpic of her had that spot colored in.
I don't think it is the artist's fault. I think it is the marketing strategy that involves revealing clothes to draw in more players.

Re: Female Armors
Update: Yeah, just saw Cys's tweet on Shadow Slayer X. Honestly Milt... Do you have to reveal all of that? Yeah, it's official. AE is being manipulated by their hormones.

Re: Female Armors
More like Milt's got them under his thumb so that he can make sure all of AQW's armor is nothing but burlesque on a woman! Is it possible that he's such a great hypnotist that almost no one can take him down from his high horse?

Re: Female Armors
A friend of mine found a porn flash done by our very own Miltonius whilst browsing yonder Internets.
So yeah. I'mma agree in full with Crystal.
Anyway. Fact of the matter is every up and coming game needs some fan service so that people don't just play WoW instead, and as everyone knows, females are the first to be used as fan service. It's because that's how society rolls.

Actually, it has nothing to do with Miltons skill. He is an extremely talented artist who, sadly, has a tendency towards drawing revealing women. While I don't really agree with the way he does his armors... Let's just all be glad we haven't seen anything worse.

Re: Female Armors
Personally... I don't see the skin showing as "arousing" in any way, and most other teen guys probably don't also. Milt is just... strange. The legs should be covered, but the belief is probably that women never wore armor back when armor was worn, because they didn't fight back then. So... there is no definite look for a women's armor. Therefore, they can interpret it however they like.

Alright, I'll send an e-mail within 2-4 days, with all the signatures of all that agreed.to AE. Hopefully, we can stop this.
