Boredom.

Post by Guest on Wed Mar 03, 2010 8:36 am

If you clicked on this useless topic, you know what it's about.
Boredom. How is this possible we have five senses, five ways to interact with the world around us. We have the most intellegence out of every single species on Earth. So, why is boredom a problem? As Dictionary.com states, to bore is to weary by dullness, tedious repetition, unwelcome attentions. We all have amazing capabilities, life itself is so large that not all the organisms on Earth could come even 1/1,000,000 of life's possiblilites.

Bored at home? Play solitare, think about things that may confuse you, to pursue a healthier understanding, call a friend, do homework, and the list goes on...

Bored at school? Become more attentive, pursue further involvement in extracurricular activites, study in a group, and yet again, the list goes on...

When you complain to yourself that your bored, pick up that book on that table, open up the first page, and read. If you blaim your lack of accomplishment on so little chances to improve, you're going too many regrets to count. Please take in consideration this small bit of information, rather than thinking, 'Pssh, he doesn't know crap about my life, I'm fine.'

"You had to hand it to human beings. They had one of the strangest powers in the universe. No other species anywhere in the world had invented boredom. Perhaps it was boredom, not intelligence, that had propelled them up the evolutionary ladder." - Terry Pratchett (Thief of Time)

Thats like saying certain colors are not more appealing than others. Thats why we have boredom, excitement, happiness, sadness. Its from these opposites.
