Personally I love dogs. With the exception of my friend's kitten, cats don't really like me.

I have a bull mastiff-pitbull(-possibly Staffy) cross called Sam. He'll yodel/howl/charge at your legs from behind as a greeting if he knows you but if he doesn't he gives a series of very loud barks to tell you "Hey I'm here. If the boss gives the word, you're screwed. But if not, I'm gonna freak you out by jumping up to lick your face." Which only works on people under 5ft in height.
