YES, free players do contribute through clicking on adverts, but the money that the company makes from free player click through would provide support for about 1/500th of the free players on the game. I'm not saying this to increase free player click-through on the ads, just letting you know that even considering ad support, free players PLAYING the game are still a much greater drain on game resources than it looks like they will every provide through that venue.

So lets look at the BattleBar and AExtras. That works a little better because free players actually GET some ACs for their time (unless the AExtra is broken) so there is more incentive for free players to help support the game through those methods. Still, comparing the server and bandwidth strain on the game to how much the company makes from these 2 methods are about 1/40. Most people would say "increase the payout" but since AC's represent real money the company providing the AExtra offer is only willing to pay for so many ACs to be provided and we here at Artix Entertainment have no control over that.

As for word of mouth, considering the free population is 99% larger than the paying population (yup, slightly less than 1% of players who create an account ever pay a cent) the free player population is a HUGE resource for drawing new players through word of mouth.... unfortunately 99% of those NEW players that they draw to the game never pay for anything either... causing even greater strain on the servers.

Weather you want to believe it or not, AQW is almost ENTIRELY supported on Memberships and to a slightly lesser extent AC sales. It's extremely fair to say that the members carry the free players. Each paying player pays for themselves and a truckload of free players to continue playing. It really is only fair that the members get what they pay for. We try to make sure that members get WAY more than they pay for in as many ways as we can, and members will always get what we consider to be the BEST of the game.

Having said all that, we are eternally grateful for EVERY kind of support that our players give us, whether you are a free player clicking on ads or a Founder who has never let your membership lapse... every little bit helps keep the game going.
