Rank Requests

Sun Jan 10, 2010 10:23 am by V

With all the rank requests recently, I thought I'd make a central thread where they could all be requested.

Costs of ranks:
Custom Rank 7,500 Points
Colored/Bolded Rank 15,000 Points

Friends Request Notification

Post by Peregrine on Mon May 24, 2010 1:56 am

So yeah. I suggested this to Vamp on MSN but then he logged out immediately afterwards for SOME REASON.

Anyway.

Everyone know about the forum's friends and foes system? It's pretty cool since I rarely ever see one that actually works on forums, and it makes up for the AQW friends list limits. However, I think there should be a PM notification when you get a new friends request. Otherwise these things usually don't get checked unless you catch the person you're trying to be friends with at con or PM them yourself going "HEY YOU, CHECK YOUR FRIENDS REQUESTS." Even then, sometimes they don't check them.

I have no idea if this is possible to do or not but I thought I'd throw it out there for consideration none the less.

That'd be a neat feature. You have Xusha's agreement!

I'm starting to see a trend here.

Anyway.

Vamp checked it out and it turns out that it isn't possible. Does anyone have any ideas for an alternative? Maybe a "check your friends requests day" or a thread in which we yell at people to check their friends requests?

Hm, thread would work I guess. Takes away the hassle of sending pms all the time.

What real benefit would it have? Would it be large enough to make the effort worthwhile?

Seems a little extreme, wouldnt it just be easier to remember to check the FRs every week or so?

Na Sebi, because most people don't get a new friend request every single week.

Even if the idea was approved, I don't believe that there is an option to turn it on for users. That would require coding one, which I believe this site isn't on its own hosting where you can freely edit the forum's source codes. If I'm correct, this site is hosted on forumotion.com and the web domain is bought that covers over this free forum site. So that means you are limited to the option that this site gives, so pretty much impossible...

@Ryuu: Vampy already told Pere about that.

I say we throw rocks at each other. That was a viable solution for the communication issue I had with my girlfriend a few years back.

I'm guessing that relationship worked out famously.
