XBox Kinect/ Project NATAL

Post by Evangel on Wed Jun 16, 2010 9:08 am

Ok, so, this has pretty much been eating away at me, I REALLY want to have a discussion about this with some people.

For those of you who don't know what Kinect/ NATAL is, Kinect is Microsoft's answer to the Wii's and PS3's motion controllers. Basically, it is a camera that scans your body and transfers your movement to the movement of your character in-game.

I think, compared to the PS3's "Move" motion controller, it is helluva lot more, um... (what's the word...) ground breaking? than the Wii or Move? Its a completely different technology that has some great potential.

Although, the games they created for it don't seem all that great. With the exception of a Star Wars game, the rest is mostly exercising games, sports, and party games. Albeit, I think Kinect is pretty great and that I would buy it in the future when if I could get some money scrounged up. (With "Halo: Reach", and the new XBox 360 "Slim" being priorities beforehand.)

So, what are ya'll opinions on Kinect?

I think it sounds great, but it has a lot of room for error... I mean, just imagine the bugs. D:

Don't expect the first release to be perfect. There is bound to be some flaws with this project, but hopefully it will be updated later on

Personally, I'm not going to go for it. I play games to sit on my butt and relax.

It has been tried before, and failed as well.

I heard my friends talking about this today, had no idea what they meant until now.

Sounds interesting, but I don't think I'll go for it.

Project NATAL has been a topic of conversation around me for quite some time now... that's what happens when you have two avid videogamers under one roof and three more in your carpool. I think it sounds cool, especially the idea of getting more into the games. But, of course, my only gaming systems are PC, DS, and Wii...

People were somewhat similar with their thoughts on... Vista. Enough said.
