Basic rundown: Death needs peoples' help to recover evil souls (called 'Kishin eggs', since they will turn into a Kishin. A Kishin will destroy the world :3), and enlists the help of Weapons (humans who turn into...well....weapons) and meisters (people who weild the weapons).

The manga version is better. The anime goes off on a tangent after the BREW arc, which irked me. Chapter 75 should be up soon...
