Defender Class Oppinions

Post by Jason on Sun Jul 18, 2010 5:23 am

Since Defender has the same stuff as guardian, and not all of us had/have guardian, what is your oppinion on the new class, Defender?

It has some really good art on it, i even made a whole outfit for it. The class itself? Its fairly good, its no DL or Star Captain, but I've beat around quite a few players and monsters around with Crushing Sweep and Retaliation. The only thing i can complain about, and that keeps this armor from being really good is the cooldown on the heal spell. 30 secs for a heal? Geez i get to use this once in PvP before i win or lose. Make it heal alot more or drop the cooldown by 10-15 secs. Other than that i think its a good class to have, something else i can get into besides Rogue and Dragonlord. :V

Well now that Guardian is awesome Ive been ranking that....I never really used guardian so I dont really know who Defender is...it look okay but the shoulder is way to big the girl version looks much better I really dont get why Guy armors always have to be bulky cant they be skinnier like the girl ones.

Its a little bulky, but otherwise its an alright look.

I absolutely hated it as a class when it was Guardian. Never ranked it past 5. Its not really even helpful unless you have 4 other people with you, otherwise its just a burden.

It's good for even with your with one person. I should know since the past 2 days ranking it at Miltonius. Finally have it at rank 10. V_V

Although I have never tried it I have reason to believe that it has a large amount of skill and damage to the class but I'm not too fond of the ArtWork. And I agree with the point Veonyx made that it is a little bulky and seems to much in comparison to other armors.

I agree about the artwork, Chaos, Dage always goes too Bulkish with his armors and it fears me when he says he's making a new armor/ class, cause they all somehow look like the bulkiness of his undead warrior e.e
But it is an okay class skill wise.

It was so-so for a class. I prefer the new souped-up Guardian.

Re: Defender Class Oppinions

Post by Erik on Mon Jul 19, 2010 10:10 am

Guys, I don't see why everyone seems to think that DragonLord, StarCaptain, and the new Guardian are better. I was perfectly fine and happy with Guardian the way it was, but now I have to re-rank Defender. You must not be thinking about the strategy of it.

A few people complained about the heal. If you actually read the info on the skill and paid attention, you could see that it heals you, and makes it so you take nearly, and possibly no damage for 8 seconds. Obviously this is perfect to work with the first skill, which forces an enemy to attack you for 6 seconds. You get low on HP, and bam, heal up to full, and use commanding strike to draw the enemies to attack you. This works great for PvP and boss fights. Plus, for boss fights, retaliation really deals major damage later on, especially on bosses that have extras you have to kill first, like escherion with his staff and vath with stalagbite.

People seem to have been complaining just because DragonLord and StarCaptain have attack skills you can spam, and Guardian required a strategy to use properly.

Rant over.

Exactly why there are so many Defender haters, you need strategy to kill a monster with 10k plus healt e.o

Defender might not have as much sweeping power as Dragonlord,Berzerker,Rougue etc. BUT Guardian sure has more defending power. It takes a long time then WTFBOOMS the oppenant.
