AQW too...silly?

Well-if you couldnt tell by the title this topic is about the "seriousness" and "sillyness" of AQW. I personally think Aqw has became too silly with puns etc. Would you like it more serious,or more well-errrr sillyness?

I personally think AQW has became too pun-relient. I mean,almost every area has liek 3-4 puns. Take mythsong for example. Mythsong's releases all had some sort of pun or refrence. (Discordia-Phantom of The Opera etc). If you count the frog and the mirror as comedy in Escherion sagas-Then its pretty comedy meterial. Yokai had Nekoyasha-Inuyasha,NOTruto-Naruto etc. Vath was pretty good with little puns. If you played the Giant Tales,there were so much sillness I could barely count.

Thats the pretty much it for the silly

Now,lets get on with the Serious part of AQW (warning,there isnt alot to write)

Much more of Tercessuinotlim's items are serious. Frostscythe and Aisha was pretty serious.

And thats pretty much it for the serious.

So now I want to hear your opinions.

Toy, you realize that AQW isn't SUPPOSED to be serious, right?

AQW is meant to be a casual MMO. Not a farm-crazy strong-storylined extremely serious MMO.

Is it possible AE might make an extremely cool serious MMO one day? Possibly. Until then, AQW will stay a casual MMO.

What drew me to AE in the first place was their sense of humor. If it was not for the bad puns and the silly quests I would never have started playing. I enjoy the less serious quests; I only wish they were longer.

I feel the same way Sleepslate, the comedic material is the reason AE got to where it is today.

I have to side with Cial.

AE is going for all round appeal. Easiest way is to inject comedy since (almost) everyone enjoys a laugh.

If it was made too serious, it'd lose it's appeal to younger players.

But, as said by Sleepy and Payton, that's not why people play AE games. They like the silliness. If you want seriousness, play WoW. If you want silliness and bad puns, play AQW. It's all about compromise in the end.

AQW is a children's game. That's why its cool. It can't have blood or any of that stuff, but it proves not everything needs to fall to those standards. That's why I like it. Its different.

AQW is meant to be a children's game, it's not meant to be completely serious. I can understand wanting something more serious for a MMO, but you have to realise that young children play this game, and what they like is different to the seriousness we like.

I love the silliness. If I want something serious, I can provide it myself (witness the Stories I set in that universe); the playful tone is a great relief when I'm stressed out. Personally, I find it easier to have the goofy built in and drift in the direction of not-so-goofy by my own methods than vice versa. It's pure, clean FUN.

Now lets be honest, there is no such thing as a good pun ;)

I'm into the puns because they are somewhat clever and I enjoy seeing AE reference things I know. The words to describe the game are not silly or serious, casual does fit the game much better. If it was silly it would be filled with random things spinning around in circles and making oogle-eyes and such.

Added neither as an option if you find it fine the way it is, and not too silly or too serious.
