There's a site called TV Tropes, and they point out all the devices and cliches in stories. There's one for almost everything out there EVER.
In AQW's they actually mention Crystal Lions' fanfic, Las Vegas Lion.

ALSO, apparently Inspector Javert is a class under Archtypical characters.
This makes me sad because I looked under characters who fall under that catagory, and seriously, all of the one's I'd heard of were my favorite characters. Wow.
