New Points Build

Dear TRlites,

I have introduced a New points build due to the recent absence of cons. You might notice that:

-Posting in general and gaming forums grants 50 points per post and 75 posts per topic, as compared to giving 5 points previously

-Posting in creative forums gives 100 points each, 115 points for a topic, and 200 points for galleries/character sheets

-Support forums typically give more points for response: Q&A posts give 70 points and posting an art village tutorial gives 1000 points. (Abuse of this will result in a 1-day ban and having points reset to 0.)

-New users will recieve 500 points for posting an introduction topic

-5 Points are automatically given to all users every day

Hopefully this will make zards and ranks easier to obtain! Comments are welcome.

This is indeed a great new system. However normal postage will still not be enough for somebody to get that shiny new zard or rare signature they want. 10,000 is still mighty high when you only get 50 per post.I see that as good thing that might encourage people to make big bucks posts like an art tutorial.

Couple of suggestions. Posting of a story in the word gallery should be quite a lot of points. Maybe 300-500, those stories take a long time and are deeply appreciated.
Lower the points given to postin in the unofficial games department. Pints farming is too easy there. Or make it so "Count to 10,000 " rewards no points

AND tell people when a mobile site has been strung up. It is awesome but I can't figure out how to post or sign in. And having no way to tell who made the post is confusing too.

Don't reduce the amount from unofficial games, it's the most fun way to earn points

You make a good point. Unfortunately, since posting new stories is within a word gallery, there's no way to automatically set it up. I guess we could do it manually, though.

Just changed it so:

-Unofficial contests gives 1,000 points when a contest is posted and 100 points per post (entry).

-Unnoficial games gives 20 points per topic and 5 per post.

We have a mobile site. I went to TR on my iPod and it looked like something auto-setup by the forum host. Nice but basic.

Amen brother, not that it matters much anymore I'm probably not going to be on TR anymore, but it is a great system, and should get more activity in the forums.

The topics in unofficial games encourage short, automated responses for the most part. If you want to partake in games that take effort, the contest section awards quite a few points for posting.

Also, I'd like to remind everyone that discussion sections, such as the Sandbox, awards a decent amount of points now. The point of getting points (no pun intended) is so you can impress your friends with Zards/Ranks. If you haven't made any friends because you've just been counting to 10,000, it's kind of counterproductive. No?

Also, Darre, I haven't seen that site before. List time I vistited TR on my iPhone, it was the normal web layout. Odd!

Valid points accepted. No one makes friends in the games section. Not with Me, Sebi & Patrick spamming it up.
