Re: Japan's Tsunamis
I sure hope so, it looks horrible. I hope the people are/were prepared for the tsunamis. My thoughts are with all the Japanese too, this was one devastating earthquake.

Re: Japan's Tsunamis
Did you get earthquakes in Germany, or?
Japan's economy seems pretty stable, so I don't think rebuilding/recovery will be too difficult. Of course, you can't make up for lives lost which is really what it comes down to.

Re: Japan's Tsunamis
...Earthquakes? As intoday or yesterday? No, Germany is about halfway between Japan and America, so way too far away.
I don't even know if we ever had earthquakes in Germany. I've never witnessed one in Berlin where I live. We rather have lots of snow and/or river floodings.

Re: Japan's Tsunamis
It looks like the Pacific Ring of Fire wants to rumble.
My thoughts go out to the Japanese at this time, I know what it's like to be in their situation, mostly.
I feel really sorry for the Japanese Search and Rescue teams. They just finished up operations in my city and now they're going back to home to face another disaster. It's got to be taking a toll on them.

I doubt a shockwave can travel 5500 miles (9000 kilometers).

Re: Japan's Tsunamis

Earthquake...
Earth's axis has reportedly shifted ten inches as a result of the quake, and Japan's coast is said to have permanently shifted 2.4 metres.

That just looks like an awesome bike track to me now...
Seriously though, my prayers are with the Japanese. Especially those in the epicentre of the quake and where the tsunami hit hardest. I pray for those that have been killed, have had somebody killed, or have had their life devestated. Videos and images I have seen of the tsunami have been pretty gruesome. I suggest checking out BBC's website for good video coverage.

Wow... I'm praying for everyone in Japan, and particularly the people my friends have known... though how did that road split right along the yellow line?
