TR-Wide writing project. Chapter 1

My name is Eric Grandille. My whole life people have told me that things have to get worse before they get better. That is NOT the case in my life…. Things just keep getting worse… and worse… and worse…. I guess I should start at the beginning.

I was walking home from school one day, my 18th birthday. I was eager to get home to a table full of gifts. But as I walked home, I started to get the feeling someone was watching me. I kept walking, now slightly paranoid that I was being followed, when suddenly a window next to me opened up and a hand reached out, covering my mouth and pulling me into the building. I tried to fight back but somehow it was no use, there was nobody around me and this person’s grip was too strong. Once I was free, I realized I was standing in a dark room, completely empty it seemed. As my eyes adjusted to the dark, I noticed a figure sitting in a chair at the far end of the room.
“Who are you?!” I said, trying not to sound frightened.
“Eric Grandille! You have been chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy!”
“I… What…?” I managed to say.
The figure stood, raising a hand to me as it spoke again.
“You heard me boy. Your fate is sealed, if you choose not to accept it, I shall kill you where you stand.”

As stated in my question thread.... Here... Anyone who wants can PM me their version of the next chapter based on guidelines set. I will choose the winner Based on originality, how well they follow the guidelines, and how well it is written. The new chapter will be posted, credit given to it's author, and new guidelines set for the following chapter.

The guidelines for chapter two are...
1. The mystery character's identity is revealed.
2. Eric learns more about the prophecy he's been chosen to fulfill. (what is it? You decide.)

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to add: Deadline for the second chapter entries is 2 weeks from TODAY! Tuesday April 5TH!
