[TR - The Game] 2.0 Information & Jobs Stuff
Ok, so we've countless times tried to get this, quite frankly, ****able game off the ground. Whether it's because our two lead developers randomly leave, I leave, we lose interest, or just never get anyway. Last few times I've lead projects I've had the distinct problem of letting everyone who wanted to work on the project work on it. And let's face it, that just doesn't work. So this time, we're all going to take it seriously. Not everyone will be able to work on it, not everyone will get their ideas and thoughts into the game, and everyone can be expecting the alpha version out sometime in the next few months.
Let's talk jobs. Right now I'm pretty much the only one on the team, and I'm doing art and story/writing. Obviously I can't do flash and others would like to work on the game as well. If you want to practice on the art side, take a look around this section and see how Nelioka did things. Right now I'm leaning toward a 7 person maximum team, myself included or not is not yet decided. So at max 8 people, if you would like to apply for a job, I will have a thread for that with all the specifications later.
Now let's talk story and art. Obviously we originally took pretty much all of our ideas from AQW. First of all that would be under a few © restrictions to continue that. So I would like some new, original ideas for the story. On the art side, we have a similar problem, but not quite as bad. Obviously we're going with that pixel/8-bit style, and again, look at some of Nel's work for reference.
We need someone with flash experience. I'm perfectly willing to learn flash, but by the time I have the skills to make the game, we would have far surpassed our few month deadline.
Do we want this to be an MMO? Would you like to be able to play with your friends? If this is the case then we would need servers. I don't think we can do any charging of money even for donations unless someone wants to (legally) set up a paypall or bank account and make this into a business, which I don't think we're aiming for.
That's all for now, other threads will be opened for different aspects of the game, but for now, this thread is open for questions.

well seeing as this is a rather new update to the progress of the tr game. (and now that im back from my wandering) id like to know what the new aspect of the game will be. you said something about a change from everyone to only a select few working onthe progect but from what i last heard it only stoped because 2 lead designers dissaperd and it was put on hold even while tons of tr members with the qualifications to take there place offerd untill finaly even they left looking for promiss elsewhere. i remimber myself being one actuly.

I say we start by picking an active and willing coordinator or organizer and make sure they don't get to the pint of being a leader. When you pick a leader then people have the tendency to do nothing unless the leader is active.
