With all the rank requests recently, I thought I'd make a central thread where they could all be requested.

Costs of ranks:

TR's Cave Adventures

Post by Peregrine on Sun Apr 03, 2011 12:46 am

You may select any adventurer not currently named after a member of TR (read: anyone without a square in front of their name).

Reinforcements on the way
Sparda the axeman.
Darre the ranger.
Flaw of Insanity the furance operator.
Shadow the housemaid.
Crystal Lion the peasant.
MrSebi the miner.
Kaotic the old wise guy.

Old Thread Content:
ADVENTUUUUUUUUURE.

So a friend of mine made a mod for Dwarf Fortress a while back based on AE games. Instead of dwarves, you're human adventurers, and you're surrounded by races such as moglins, zards, drakens, umazens, etc. Additionally, there is a new version of Dwarf Fortress out, 31.25, which has working hospitals. Which means less everyone dying, more FUN. Hooray!

This will be the site that we shall embark at. It is a 1x1 embark directly on a cave. Inside the cave there could be anything ranging from a hydra to a mole. I am asking at least six brave TR souls accompany me on this undertaking. More are welcome as well, but I will be embarking at six.

http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Skill

Of note when picking skills is that adventurers all have combat skills already (have you ever needed to learn how to use a weapon in AQW?), so don't bother adding weapon skills to non-military dwarves. What is possible is for you to pick a trade and say you want to be in the militia, and then you can be a carpenter in the day and a macedwarf by night.

Also, since some people mentioned feeling useless in the last fort, extremely useful jobs starting out are miner, mason, doctor, brewer, grower, armorsmith, weaponsmith, and mechanic. Full time soldiers are welcome in case we actually do embark on a hydra cave. I also have no problem with you picking multiple skills (ten's the max) from the same category (alternatively it's really hard for me to keep track of them all). For instance, an armoursmith and weaponsmith would be a metalsmith. A surgeon, diagnostician, wound dresser, suturer and bone doctor would be a doctor. If you were to be a miner, cheese maker, swimmer, macedwarf, mason, bowyer, ambusher and fish cleaner it would be a MICROMANAGEMENT NIGHTMARE for me so please keep them in the same categories.

Oh I forgot to mention. You can't be a miner and soldier because you can use a pick functions as a weapon, so you can't have both a pick and a hammer.

Another fun fact I forgot to mention is that adventurers can throw fireballs.

You sure can. Looks like Cial, Tom and I are gonna have some funkay equipment.

We'll be embarking shortly. Dealing with some weird glitch in my game currently.

I think I'll be a miner, cheese maker, swimmer, macedwarf, mason, bowyer, ambusher and fish cleaner.

Either that or a brewer.
