SOPA & PIPA

Post by V on Thu Jan 19, 2012 5:39 am

TR is participating in today's national SOPA/PIPA protest.

These two bills have far-reaching affects on the current freedom we have on the internet, including but not limited to crushing new start-up companies as well as heavily damaging any websites, from KhanAcedemy to the way you connect to servers in Minecraft.

Isn't "KILL SOPA" a little bit severe? Why couldn't we have said "STOP SOPA"?

In a Tuesday statement, Chris Dodd, chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA)—and a former Connecticut senator—said Web sites participating in the blackout are "resorting to stunts that punish their users or turn them into their corporate pawns, rather than coming to the table to find solutions to a problem that all now seem to agree is very real and damaging."
