I am out with both the TR2 and TR 250 along with 4s and 6s so should be a good weekend weather permitting

Looks like we'll have ten cars each day ranging from TR3a up to the V8 powered wedges plus a couple of Dolly Sprints.

The weather is looking half decent & it's a lovely venue so come & have a chat. We will be in the top of the paddock above the Bugatti Terrace.

It looks like the Register has also secured cheap tickets for anyone wanting to display their cars at the register stand.

I just wondered if any of the TR7 / Dolomite Sprint Hillclimbers have had any issues with bedding in an uprated clutch assembly. My complete clutch system has been replaced and as far as I am aware allis as it should be, but selecting a gear is difficult without being brutal. It has been suggested that I should get the car into gear and drive slipping the clutch until it beds in.

Thanks for any experiences or thoughts.

These used to get huge entry lists - I have an entry list from 1993 with 120 cars in the Targa - and they ran all day Saturday with a mixture of tests and regularities; for several hours overnight at a constant 30mph average; and finish on Sunday morning with more tests.

Did they run out of organisers? Become too expensive? Fall foul of bad PR? Or what?

Just curious, really. MAN they were good events!!

What surprises me is that no one gets run over on the pit exit lane.

not my normal titles etc production. But I have tried the 360 view manipulation before uploading.

it requires expensive editing tools to allow 360 upload where you the viewer can have a look around independently by swiping or moving the device.

this was a first run on a wet track and a brand new tarmac surface- slippery !!

i am sure it (won’t) put the fear of god into my fellow competitors or have them pinching my ideas.

I wasn’t there but apparently - The season  has started at Cadwell with some keen competitors braving the weather and Rob MacGregor taking the honours  (pic by Rob)having spent the winter tuning and tweaking I should think, may be Rob needed to look at the bonnet fastening, as weight loss during a run and having the bonnet fly off is not gentlemanly ? Chris Lindforth was out in earnest this year following his very successful rookie year last year having now added new racing tyres and of course Len olds our current champion 😠 putting in the effort to come from Lands End - literally. Matt Waltham in his TR5 is a force to be reckoned with yet again once he repairs a broken gearbox mount - that suggests to me he just has toooo much power !

well my last event last season was a 2 day event at the end of September at Harewood.

since then family responsibilities came to the fore with aged parent illnesses and moves to care homes etc etc I won’t bore you with but that is just all coming to an end thankfully with positive outcomes.

honestly I had every intention of “sorting”the  car.

but since Harewood the poor thing hasn’t turned a wheel and ALL the fluids are the same 😔 I’ve not event sat in it or jacked it up - shameful I know.

yesterday I put my race numbers on for next weeks SHELSLEY hill climb 228 only to find I don’t have enough 2s or 8s. So outwith the black duct tape. 
With having father in law staying to recuperate from a v major op, I think I will be simplifying my race weekend logistics and drive to SHELSLEY and make it part of my shake down. Rather than pick up my trailer and juggle the cars on the drive and upset the neighbours.

Are you allowed to drive our old cars on the road with a crash helmet on ??

anyway I promise to dust the car off move the Alvis to get the tr out and put a lot of V power in - if the third mortgage is approved on Friday ready for Saturdays early start and drive to the racing  

wish me luck I’ll needed it this year !

Healeysport - Curborough Test Day

Who is Organising the day? – Richard Mason

When is it? - Thursday 19 March

Where is it? - The Curborough Sprint Track at Fradley - just north of Lichfield (post code WS13 8EJ)

What's included? - A hot breakfast (bacon or sausage sandwich) is served from about 8.30am, mid-morning tea and coffee plus a hot lunch from about 12.00.  Times agreed on the day with the caterer.

How much track time do I get? - The track will be open from about 09.30 and we must finish by 17.00 which means that you will usually get as many runs as you have petrol or tyres for.  Dual drives and passengers are allowed.  There will be a maximum of 20 cars attending. Only one vehicle will be on track at any one time.

What do I need to bring? - all drivers/passengers will need race overalls, gloves and a helmet.  All cars must be road worthy, have silencers and run to 105db maximum noise.

What does it cost? - the cost will be £95 for a driver including food.  You can have more than one driver for a car, and the second or subsequent drivers pay £65 each, which includes food.  Excellent value for a day's testing and food.  Food for other guests can be purchased from the caterers.

How do I pay?  You pay Richard Mason by bank transfer when you book your place on the event.  Alternatively, you can, subject to prior agreement with Richard, pay by cash on the day.

On the day, each person will be issued two tickets - hand one over to the caterers for a breakfast and one for your lunch.

In sending me notice of this video, Les Amis have told me that they are, "eagerly awaiting the municipal elections of March 2026 to take back control of the site. A second list of candidates is running in opposition to the current mayor, and this gives us great hope!"     This is because the present Mayor of Gueux, which commune owns the land that the circuit buildings stand on, has placed punitive limits on the activities of Les Amis, and prepared to lease the land and buildings to a  developer.
