My phone accesses the TRR Forum, but with a crossed red dot alongside the URL Tapping that gets a page from Google Chrome saying that "You should not enter any sensitive informaton on this site (for instance passwords or credit card details) because it could be stolen by attackers" Google offers more details.

I'm not going to enter my banking details here anyway, but should we be concerned?

	Hi,
A friend is having trouble logging in. He has his username and password saved on his computer, but now the system requires logging in with an email address. His account is very old, and he believes he registered with an old email that he no longer has access to and he can’t even remember what it was.
How can he solve this problem?
Thank you very much.

I would like to archive this forum to my computer. If I do that right now (as anybody can, it's easy enough), the https requests are going to put a load on the forum's server, thereby possibly making the forum run slow for other users. I don't think our USA friends are heavy users here, so maybe during the wee hours, UK time is a good time to do this. Could the owner of this forum confirm or otherwise elighten me on this particular point of timing please? Indeed, could the owner please let me know if there are any reasons at all why they might not want me to do this archiving? I doubt if GDPR is a concern, given that all content I can archive is by definition already freely available to logged in users.

Inevitable somebody will ask: Why do I want to archive the forum? Because data loss can and does happen, and -- I believe -- did happen here a few weeks ago with the "Alec's Inn" subforum when I understand some forum-content was irretrievably lost. I would like to make sure that I have a safe copy of all the staggering tips, suggestions and tutorials that the TR-heads have so freely and kindly contributed over the years, so that they are never lost, whether by cock-up, conspiracy, nor any other unfortunate kind of mischance.

By using this Forum, you are agreeing to comply with the following terms and rules for use:

	1.0 Introduction

1.1 This Forum is provided by TR Forums for the enjoyment of TR Register Car Club members for the sharing of technical knowledge and assistance regarding subjects related to TR sportscars. TR Forums is sponsored by the TR Register Car Club. There are many benefits of membership to the TR Register Car Club beyond the use of the Forum - you're encouraged to make use of them all to enhance your TR ownership in the best way possible.

1.2 Non-members are welcome to enjoy the Forum but should appreciate they are guests of the TR Forums. Our Forum users come from all walks of life and all ages – please respect each other. To assist in keeping the discussions on this forum courteous, supportive, respectful and lawful, we have the following rules.

1.3 IMPORTANT: If you don't agree with the rules, please don’t use the Forum!

1.4 Failure to follow these rules may result in permanent moderation of all your posts and removal of your user account. If anyone pursue actions on the Forum which brings the sponsors TR Register Car Club or its volunteers into disrepute, they may be held responsible for their actions.

1.5 The TR Forums have been advised that, if damages were sought in law for injurious posts, not only the original poster but the system provider, the sponsors, Forum Moderators and Admin could be at risk. TR Forums and their sponsor will not accept such exposure, nor considers it acceptable for the Forum Admin and Moderators to be put at personal risk. As we do not have the resource to establish if potentially libellous posts are true, or otherwise, any post which may be considered injurious will be deleted without warning or explanation.

1.6 TR Forums will take reasonable measures to ensure this Forum complies with the Online Safety Act. All users are required to ensure that their use of this Forum also complies with the Online Safety Act. As we do not have the resource to establish if potentially criminal posts are non-compliant to the act, they will be deleted without warning or explanation.

	2.0 Moderators

2.1 TR Forums is run by unpaid volunteers, in their leisure time. They do not have the free time to enter into lengthy debate over their actions and may not be available for immediate decisions. Please respect their position.

2.2 TR Forums reserves the right to modify the Forum rules at any time. It is the responsibility of the User to ensure they are conversant with the current rules which are published clearly on the Forum. Users will be notified of any changes.

	3.0 Forum Profiles & Usernames

3.1 Proper names and avatars are preferred as, in our opinion, they promote courteous behaviour and aid the moderators in spotting spam accounts.

3.2 Users who have connection to a TR related business are welcome to identify themselves as trade but MUST NOT use the forum as a means of advertising and canvassing for business either commercially or on behalf of other clubs.

3.3 Usernames or signatures deemed by the moderators or club officials as offensive will be requested to be changed. If the request is ignored, then the moderators or admin reserve the right to delete the user account.

3.4 Multiple Forum registrations for one individual are not allowed.

	5.0 Forum Etiquette

5.1 Please bear in mind that the whole of the Forum is PUBLICLY VIEWABLE and therefore the audience comprises of sponsoring club members, non-members, lapsed members and potential new members and those seeking to enter the TR community for the first time. All users have a duty to make others users from all backgrounds and walks of life feel welcome and to show off the TR Forums and wider TR community in a positive light.

5.2 Do not be critical of other members’ posts or start threads designed to be critical of others. If you are unhappy with another post or with the conduct of a member, please use the ‘Report’ button at the foot of every post.

5.3 Make sure that your message topics fit the description of the Forum or expect their movement by the Forum moderators.

5.4 Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent bit (use the ‘quote’ option).

5.5 Don’t change the subject of a post when replying – many users scan headings only – stay on topic!

5.6 Only Post pictures that are suitably sized for their intended purpose, e.g. signature pictures do not need to be as large as those identifying technical detail. In many cases pictures are necessary to identify items referred to in posts and need to be easily viewable. Multiple large and/or lightly-compressed pictures slow the performance of the Forums; please remember that web pictures only need to be 72 dpi 640 x 480 and can be compressed easily.

5.7 Keep signatures in the body of your posting to a reasonable length to ensure that the thread's content remains readable.

5.8 Don’t post entire messages in CAPITALS, many confuse this for shouting.

5.9 Don’t double post (post the same message twice in one thread) or cross post (place the same message across several Forums). Cross posting will be removed by the moderators.

5.10 Do not post new problems on someone else's thread and interrupt a topic of discussion.

5.11 This Forum is not a soapbox for airing political or religious beliefs, opinions or ideologies.

5.12 Any user can post as many times as they wish providing the posts are in accordance with the Forum rules.

5.13 A new user has an entirely equal right to express themselves freely on this Forum as an established user does.

6.0 Reporting Abuse or breaches of the Forum Rules

6.1 Action when using the ‘Report’ post button:

6.1.1 Selecting the ‘Report’ button causes the offending post to be flagged, along with your user details and those of the original poster, to the Moderators of the relevant Forum and to the Administrators. In most cases, Moderators will make a simple judgment as to whether the report is valid and will advise the user who reported the ‘abuse’ and the moderator(s) of their decision. The moderator’s decision is final. If this is not considered fair the reporter may contact the Forum Community Coordinator at moderator@tr-register.co.uk. The moderators in many instances may feel the need to discuss the action required amongst themselves for a consensus of opinion.

I got a notification that Roger H. had quoted my posting on Forum Links from the main site in one of his posts. So, I clicked on the notification to see what he had to say and was surprised to find out I had no permission to view the item. Remember this is a public posting by Roger quoting me ! I have completed the help section

I've just noticed. It's most helpful if someone posts a reply to a previous post that the quote is dated, as if it was from a little while ago, you can gain the context. But the website gives the date of the quoted post in US style - MM/DD/YYYY. Not in UK style, DD/MM/YYYY.

Please may that be corrected? Otherwise, it requires a change of mental gear ratio to find the quoted post!

Just though I would post this.

My TR4 (ALP 71B) was stolen 22 November in the early hours from Leigh on Sea in Essex. Some form of pick up vehicle was used - Police advise that it was not driven on any roads that evening.

Picture attached. Very pretty really (my view anyway).

The vehicle was in very good condition. Details as follows

Body white (no rust - the car was purchased from TR Bitz having been restored by them about 18 months ago)

Surrey Top (new addition with new lining)

Other new additions - sports exhaust manifold and large bore exhaust, electronic ignition and new SU carburetors & fuel pump.

Interior was blue with white piping (new).

White dash and original steering wheel.

Mileage 94,300.

Chasis No CT57740

Engine No CT5846E

I had just fitted a reconditioned back axle as well.

Keep a watch out for me. You never know.

Today, I see that the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files" button now opens a new mini-window in the posting box. Otherwise it works the same, EXCEPT, it turns some of mine on their side! See: The Person Who Posts Last Wins 47 - Page 436 - Alec's Inn - TR Register Forum (tr-register.co.uk)

What could be doing this? On my hard disk and if I paste the pic elsewhere, it comes out upright!

I have been a member for about8-9 years and last December my access to the forums changed to non member ’grey screen’. I have contacted the office by email three times, one reply saying they would send a membership card , two no response.

I have tried changing my user name and my password to no avail.

if I try to log in I get user not recognised, if I try using my email I get other member using that email. If I try to join under a different user name again I get another using that email. I still get group area updates by email.

my last working user name was Richard65.

	Thanks

As said above, having sold one of my cars, I wanted to alter the photos shown in my signature area. I can't see how to do it anymore ???
