As TR Register members will be able to read on our website, Graham Andrews steps officially into the role of Italia Registrar having taken over the reigns from Paul Harvey due to Paul's ill health. http://www.tr-register.co.uk/article/2017/08/0109/New-volunteer-appointments-at-the-TR-Register I guess we couldn't ask for a better qualified Italia exponent to follow Paul - well done Graham for stepping forward. Incidentally, last I heard Paul was making slow but steady progress, albeit with a long haul yet to return to fighting fitness - best wishes from me, Paul, and doubtless from lots of other Forumites ! Cheers, Alec

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-GT6-Mark-2-PI-/251791887662 Seller notes: "The car is sadly being sold to help fund the rebuild of my Triumph Italia." Reminded me of the sale of my quite nice TR6, sold for exactly the same reason. I foolishly thought the $10,400 I realized would be a significant offset to the restoration expenses on my Italia. I omitted that crucial extra zero at the end. Scott

New front windscreens for Triumph Italia will be produced shortly by Pilkington UK to genuine NOS standards. These will be the first replacement laminated windscreens available for Italia for some time. The price is £300 (+VAT if applicable + delivery) Delivery to Europe and US is available at reasonable cost and direct delivery to a UK address is £55. All Italia owners should consider purchasing a spare screen as a random stone could take your car off the road for several months. New windscreen rubbers are also available to suit in very high quality marine grade rubber which will bend and fit around the corners without difficulty. Please PM me for invoicing and delivery details. I only require 3 more orders to instruct production. I am grateful for support from the New Spares Fund of the TR Register to cover initial tooling costs. Cheers,

Italia #319 for sale. We're loving the typo Japanese headline "Itaria" and the potentially World Record price tag! (thanks to owner Scott Marquis for the tip-off) http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C540137

Now where did I leave the keys to my time machine ?? Recently rediscovered this ad, clipped from "Thoroughbreds and Classics" or some such, probably in the mid-1990's. I'd mis-remembered this as the actual Triumph World ad through which I'd acquired my own car in 2000 (from Leo Ranner in Germany). This would have been a far less expensive route, but I was much dumber then, and £14,000 was real money. Italia ad.bmp

This one looks like a lot of work, but worth saving. A very early Italia in truly amazing concours condition is now available for sale at a much reduced price. Silver over black interior, this car was the subject of a no-expense spared professional restoration and retains the condition as displayed at the Ville D'Este concours before the car was brought to England and registered with the plate '59TR.' My detailed investigations conclude that the car is the only known surviving roadworthy 'show' Italia from 1959 with many unique features not found on the subsequent production models. £80,000 including the private plate. Serious collectors may contact me by PM for further details and a discussion of the car's history. Nb. I have no financial involvement in the sale but am helping the deceased owner's wife dispose of the car.

I must correct the statement in my Registrar report in TR Action 272 about a meeting of Triumph Italias that was scheduled for September this year in Northern Italy. I met Leo Ranner very recently (but after the publication deadline) and he has decided to postpone the event until May 2015 as the Autumn date did not work for several owners and their schedules. I shall publish further details as they become available. This gives a bit longer for the UK contingent to get their restorations and refurbishments finished in time for us all to take some Italian scenery and weather together next year. Meanwhile I'd like to get a proper Italia presence at Harrogate International weekend - anybody with ideas and suggestions please do get in touch. As well as my own car I have plans to show a car during the restoration phase so folks can see just how much work goes into the coachbuilt steel bodywork. I know we have several European owners who like to drive over for events, so please let me know if the Harrogate dates are appealing. You can be assured of a proper welcome this year and special treatment if you bring an Italia (although they tell me ordinary TRs are welcome too........) Cheers!
