Hamish Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 (edited) One of the first jobs I did was to fit a robust tether point to the Alvis for the 2 rescues. I can’t say they are a fan of wind in the fur motoring ! roll bar now removed for a better look and to make the VSCC happier. but the black one has done a cruciate ligament last week so on complete rest. 17 hours ago, BRENDA1 said: Hi Stuart, yes we lost our last one last year and said we would have another, but there was something missing as we’ve always had dogs. So we’ve gone back to our first and had a new Labrador retriever he’s now three and a half months training going well, will travel ok in our suv but not happy in the TR at the moment but I’ll keep trying. Mike Red Rose Group. Terribly sad for you both Mike. Awful to loose such a companion. But the new family member looks a great chap enjoy. Edited April 8 by Hamish Quote
NigelC Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 I had to do the same tether point idea when I had a mongrel called Dipstick. She liked to travel along with her head out of the door aperture not window. I didn't use doors on my Bond Bug until later (i.e. winter!). the leash was just long enough for her to sniff the airstream but make one giant leap for dogkind 😆 Quote

I hope he comes good with rest. Looking into hydrotherapy?? He’s on some anti inflammatory to help. Quote

Water treadmill will help also if your vet has it then K-laser therapy is really good for soft tissue damage.https://www.klaser.co.uk/ Thats what my Tilly had when she did her 2nd cruciate aged 14 1/2 as she was too old for the op to repair it, she had her first done at 11 1/2 and it was £3200 for a set of titanium wedges and plates and screws. plus a lot of crate rest. Z320 Posted April 12 Author Report Posted April 12 only a very short test drive, I still got ignition problems... Quote
Hamish Posted April 12 Report Posted April 12 For a change I drove to Shelsley Walsh to compete. 2 hours each way mostly motorway very early start at about 5.30 dark wet and cold. the rain hurt within a couple of miles of just aeroscreens use so put my crash helmet on. we had rain, hail, and sunshine virtually every couple hours in cycles. The track surface top to bottom is brand new and the first practice was v wet and very very slippery. It got a bit better in the dry but it sure needs curing time to get best times back. I have tried a new GoPro max360 camera and took some stills from it. the drive home was in a mostly dry weather window. literally 6months since I last used the car and it was faultless. the 2 practice times in pic Quote
RogerH Posted April 12 Report Posted April 12 We popped out for lunch today. Ended up in the West of Whitney Oxfordshire Minster Lovell to be precise. Lots and lots of squally rain. Came out of the pub to a shower of hail stones. However the Sun did try very hard to be out. Roger Quote
BRENDA1 Posted April 12 Report Posted April 12 Excellent photos I think it makes your TR3 look longer than it is, good that you made it there an back with no problems, you’ll always dry out if you get a little damp. Mike RedRose Group. Quote
BRENDA1 Posted April 12 Report Posted April 12 Members of the RedRose group had a run to The Great British Car Journey Museum. Some started at Lynn service a little wet but I got a photo just as it stopped raining, we then set off to Macclesfield, Buxton, Cromford and then the Museum, we had a look round and lunch, always watched Vera but didn’t know that the landrover was automatic. NigelC Posted April 12 Report Posted April 12 Three of my favourite things this morning, no not Hail Roger! Bacon butty with my old dog at a car meeting. Saying that, plenty of rain on the way home.....with an ignition light on too 🤔 Quote

Yes 1st event of the year and driving to and from event and only 2.87sec behind a full race 4.6L TR7V8! very pleased and in one piece the weather and new surface kept everyone away from their personal bests. Mine is 37.75 hope you have good weather for your volunteering Quote
