Pontious Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 The rubber door trim on my 4A is now looking tatty and deserves to be replaced. I’ve used Woolies for other trim but cannot identify the exact version on their website to fit the doors. Would some kind person who has identified the correct Woolies version please provide a link to put me on the right track. Thanks in advance David Quote
John Morrison Posted May 20 Report Posted May 20 Hi david, Woolies 266 is the one I used, it has the 'Fattest' rubber tubing, 266A has slightly smaller diameter tubing and thinner siedwalls but would aldso work. John. Quote
stuart Posted May 20 Report Posted May 20 (edited) Personally I always fit 265a as its a flap seal and allows for better closing doors. https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/p-1285-door-seal Stuart. Edited May 22 by stuart Quote
Dale Moore Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 Unless I'm reading this wrong it's 265a that's the flap seal 🤔 Dale Quote

Pontious Posted May 22 Author Report Posted May 22 Oops. Luckily I ordered 265A - just a slip of the keyboard. Certainly had me worried for a moment! Thanks Dale David Quote
Ralph Whitaker Posted May 23 Report Posted May 23 Is there not a capping of some sort that forms a finish for the door seal and stops it getting frayed like that. Ralph Quote

Pontious Posted May 24 Author Report Posted May 24 Thanks Guys that’s very useful. As you saw from my pic there’s no end cap fitted and it’s not immediately obvious how it fits on the B post. Anyway I’ve ordered a pair and I’m sure I’ll work it out🤞. The door seal has arrived - luckily I haven’t fitted it yet! David Quote

David The cap is secured with the forward pop stud for the hood on the outside and on the inside by a chromed Phillips raised countersunk screw with a cup washer in the top of the quarter panel trim. Dale Moore Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 Stuart is quite right on the outer fastening, but it's hard to tell on the inside of mine, as the trim is sandwiched by the hood hinge. I'm not taking it off to take a look. I've never been happy the appearance in that area, but I couldn't see another way of doing it. Quote
Pontious Posted May 24 Author Report Posted May 24 Thank you Stuart and Dale. Perfect explanations. I’ll be onto it as soon as the parts arrive. David Quote
RogerH Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 Hi David those trim fitting that cover the top of the B post are quite delicate I glue in thick plates underneath the main flat area to make it less suseptable to denting/bending. Roger Quote

Roger The 4a one isnt half as delicate as the 4 ones, you dont often see an undamaged drivers side one of them. Stuart. Quote
Pontious Posted May 25 Author Report Posted May 25 Thank you all; I’ll clearly have to be careful fitting these end caps 🤞 David Quote
