Brico Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 Hello all Newbie question - My 1960 TR3A has been modified to run an electronic distributor , does this affect the spark plug gap relative to running a point based distributor ?? Cheersd Bruce Oz Quote
Ralph Whitaker Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 (edited) As the electronic unit is only a switch to replace the points I can`t see that it would make any difference. I`ve had both on my TR3a and always set the points at 25 thou. Sorry, meant the spark plugs at 25 thou. Ralph Edited May 22 by Ralph Whitaker Additional details Quote
BlueTR3A-5EKT Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 Running a Pertronix magnetic/hall type trigger system and a Lucas Sports coil I have tried both 0.032” and 0.025” gaps. The car seems “happier” on the smaller gap. Quote
Lebro Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 I have been on 32 thou for a while now. Same setup as Peter, no problems. Bob Quote
RogerH Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 I use the Lumenition Magnetronic on both 0.032" and 0.025" and both work well. Roger Quote
