Richardtr3a Posted June 11 Report Posted June 11 Please can anyone give me advice. I look at my instagram, on my iPhone, most days for a few minutes. There is an option to select the heart symbol and it turns red and the number of red hearts increases by one. I am fine with this option but often the message asks me to leave a different colour heart. I can not see any way to do this and what difference would it make to the Instagram message. There are some adverts but I skim over them. How does selecting "follow" help the sender or Meta themselves and how does any of my use help to feed the dogs If there are different ways to use Instagram they are not easy to find. Please help Richard & B Quote
Nigel A Posted June 11 Report Posted June 11 Hopefully you’ll find this useful Richard. Angie obviously understands it better than me. Nigel Red Heart (❤️): Represents love, passion, and romance. Yellow Heart (💛): Symbolizes happiness, friendship, and optimism. Purple Heart (💜): Can be used for general love, affection, or to show support for BTS (and their fandom, ARMY). Green Heart (💚): Expresses hope, environmental support, or affection. Blue Heart (💙): Conveys love, affection, sympathy, or confidence. Orange Heart (🧡): Suggests friendship, care, and positive vibes. Pink Heart (💗): Represents sweetness, affection, and admiration. Black Heart (🖤): Can be used to express a dark sense of humor, or sometimes as a symbol of pure love. White Heart (🤍): Represents love, support, close bonds, and admiration for white-related things. Brown Heart (🤎): Often used to express love, affection, and close bonds. Two Hearts (💕): Symbolizes close contact and affection. Beating Heart (💓): Conveys love and excitement. Revolving Hearts (💞): Represents the love between two people. Glowing Heart (💗): Shows three pink hearts, from small to large, representing growing affection. Sparkling Heart (💖): Means "you are simply great!". Heart with Arrow (💘): Symbolizes love and desire. Using the scrollable menu at the bottom of your screen, pick an emoji that you want to react with instead of the default. For example, you can replace the default heart with a green heart. You'll see a confirmation message in the text above the emoji menu. Quote
Richardtr3a Posted June 11 Author Report Posted June 11 Hi nigel, Thanks for the fast reply. I will start again tomorrow and will try harder to find the correct way to use my iPhone. I am very impressed by the different hearts your list but I can not find any on my screen. Angie is a long way ahead of me. We have just watched the final of Race Across The World and my wife was not impressed at all. Thanks for your help, Richard & B Quote
Richardtr3a Posted June 12 Author Report Posted June 12 My instagram does not offer me aoption to choose any heart other than the red one on the RHS. I am waiting for the grandson to come over and explain . This will only work if he has time and any interest. He has just passed his driving test and a trip out to the grand parents might be interesting for him ?? Thanks for the replies Richard & B Quote

Nigel A Posted June 14 Report Posted June 14 A young daughter tries to stop me being a dinosaur 😛😀😀 Nigel Quote
Ian Vincent Posted June 14 Report Posted June 14 Clearly your young daughter has time on her hands. When I posted your very impressive list on my families Whats App group there was a general stunned silence so round. Rgds Ian PS A purple heart used to indicate a recipient had been wounded in action. Quote
Charlie D Posted June 14 Report Posted June 14 A bit of trivia/pub quiz stuff. (With help from Wikipedia) "Purple heart is a slang term for Dexamyl, a combination drug containing amobarbital (a barbiturate) and dextroamphetamine (an amphetamine)." Which is what John Lennon was referring to; Quote
