The TR7 radiator has sprung a leak on the header and needs a rebuild.

Guess this will set me back abut £300. A standard replacement recon from Rimmers in brass is £360.

But advertised on E Bay are Chinese aluminium 62mm three core https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153782207267 radiators at £180.

I am interested in these. Has anybody used these radiators, they seem to cover most TRs including the TR2 as well.

If it’s coming from Winner Racing….after my experience with their product….barge poles aren’t long enough.

Thanks for the input.

I had a look at those you recommended Jerry , Serk Motorsport don't seem to do TR7 radiators and Viking Radiators are in London, bit too far away.

Well, my local radiator rebuild company has quoted between £375 and £450 for a rebuild using new core etc. Rimmers price for a reconditioned item is £324.

I notice that all the cheap aluminium TR7 radiators seem to come from Czech Republic which means VAT and shipping cost will have to be added, however this still is still half the cost of a rebuild copper.brass unit. Some offer a 1 year manufacturers warranty and GPI racing for instance purports to be fully TIG welded and pressure tested (which one would expect), many seem to have good reviews too.

But generally there is a view that Chinese radiators are a temporary fix, suffer from mixed quality and questionable durability

So after considerable thought I have decided to go for an original 3 row recon radiator from Rimmers, which (ignoring the surcharge) works out at a total including VAT and carriage both ways at £321.50.

New Rimmers radiator fitted and all working OK. There was an issues with the new radiator fan shroud capture bolts being 8mm and not the original 10mm, No one in the supply chain seemed to know why this was the case, but no problem.

Thnaks for the input regarding this subject
