tim hunt Posted November 30, 2025 Report Posted November 30, 2025 One for the electric gurus on here. My garage door opener has a filament bulb marked 32.5V 34W. It has a BA15s small bayonet fitting. I would like to replace it with an LED equivalent. On the internet I found such a bulb ( DC12-34V AC 24V/3W BA15s Miniature LED bulb) available for £21 + postage from a garage door spares supplier. Is there any reason I cannot use an LED indicator bulb (12V 0.3W) and save a small fortune? Tim Quote

Only if the indicator bulb is also rated for 32.5V or more, otherwise the excess voltage will kill it. If the supply from the door opener is AC it might kill it anyway. Quote
