The TSSC have just announced that they're working in conjunction with the TR Drivers Club & Club Triumph to run an event at Gaydon next year 10th - 12th of July for Triumphs only.

Hi everyone, I thought it might be an idea to explain what this is about. I am a co-organiser for the Club Triumph National Weekend at Gaydon this year, I also happen to be the editor of Club Torque, the CT mag, and to hold a few other positions within the Club, as is often the case.

Several years ago the TRDC held its National Weekend every year but, as with all these things, numbers began dropping over time. 5 or 6 years ago they opened entry to other Triumph Clubs and Club Triumph accepted. The following year it had become apparent that CT would be bringing more members than TRDC and the responsibility for organising the weekend switched to CT with TRDC members being invited on the same terms as CT members.

The year after that, entry was opened to all other Triumph Clubs, again on the same terms, and some TSSC and other club members came along. That is still the situation today, all Triumph club members are welcome although numbers are limited by our capacity to cater for and accomodate people. All other Triumph clubs have been invited, if this information has failed to percolate down to their members that's unfortunate, but not CT's responsibility.

Our National Weekend is a smaller, rather more low key, low cost affair than that of the TR Register and has been running as such for many years, as previously stated. Club Triumph will certainly be present at the TR Reg's Car Club Fest as well, but this does not preclude continuing to run our own event which has been in planning since the last one in July this year.

I hope that this clarifies the situation.

Sounds good I’ve also noticed there’s a show on the 19th July at Lincolnshire show ground for classics and others for those interested

All Standard Triumph clubs were invited to participate in Car Club Fest. The majority are attending along with over 30 other car clubs with more signing up every week.

All well and good Mick, but what’s that got to do with the starting post ?

Why aren’t the TRR involved (or even mentioned) in the July event ?

That 12th July date is the BMC & Leyland show https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/whats-on/bmc-leyland-show

The TR Register were notable by their absence this year, 2025, but had the show stuff there in 2024 with Phil Horsley doing the honours, will we be there in 2026?

The TRDC have used that date/show for their annual get together for a number of years, and have been joined by other Triumph clubs..............

Either way, its worthwhile spending at least the day there, lots of competition cars and rare vehicles.
