15eren Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 Hi all I just want to pay Your attention to these Rear drive shafts on E-bay (Autodoc-shop).They seem to be a very good quality and I have bought a pair. The price is only 440 Euros a pair incl. shipping from Germany. https://www.ebay.com/itm/387223420320?_skw=triumph+tr6+overdrive+transmission&epid=28069558754&itmmeta=01K8NNGMJAR2JGZA0Z236MSVJC&hash=item5a28507da0:g:2ckAAeSw35xoivrX&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAABAFkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1cHkwozRMu9FzoqH2tQdtIJEM%2BjTmibenU35ozFYQ6Pv9X Cheers Tage Quote

They are extremely good value and I'd be interested in any feedback you may have George Quote
15eren Posted January 15 Author Report Posted January 15 (edited) Hi George Yes they are fitted. Everything seems OK and no modifications needed. I have not been driving yet (winter in Denmark). The only difference to the more expensive alternatives seems to be that the hubs are made of steel instead of alloy. But I do not think that is a disadvantage - on the contrary. But as Roger writes, Autodoc_shop do not ship to the UK. Cheers Tage Edited January 17 by 15eren Quote
Kevo_6 Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 If you have the AUTODOC app, it seems the will deliver free to the uk. I have not ordered any as I don’t need them but I did get as far as payment. I’ve used them quite a few times in the past for my moderns. Kev. Quote
stuart Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 They look like the ones that Limora are selling. https://www.limora.com/en/drive-shaft-rkc454cv/496667/ Stuart. Quote

They do indeed. I just installed a set on my car but it’s winter here in Michigan too… This price point is better than where I bought mine from though. Edited January 15 by charlie74 Quote
rcreweread Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 That looks remarkably good value - is the quoted price for a single driveshaft or a pair - it seems to imply its for a pair! Cheers Rich Quote
Dale Moore Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 (edited) Not sure about that. I thought it implied just the one 😂 https://m.autodoc.co.uk/mapco/23007254 list at £204.50 each Dale Edited January 15 by Dale Moore Quote
Trev Good Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 I think it is for a single driveshaft, their app states "for both sides". I think this is where the confusion comes from. Quote
trchris Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 Incredible value with free delivery as well only slightly dearer than 1 new hub for a pair Chris Quote
BlueTR3A-5EKT Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 Looks like this company offer free shipping on orders over £150. item MAPCO 16499 Drive shaft for TRIUMPH TR https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/mapco-23007254.html Quote
Kevo_6 Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 I’m pretty sure they are the same company as AUTODOC. Kev. Quote
trchris Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 Mulling over these shafts does anyone know the quality of them or are they another product from the countries who’s quality control is non existent ? Chris Quote

unclepete Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 Apparently (if you can believe an online chat bot?) there are 2 Halfshafts within the order? For £203 + free delivery - incredible value - so I've ordered a pair up to see what arrives? Quote
Macleesh Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 Autodoc definitely deliver to the UK, had plenty of stuff for various cars from them. Returns process is OK too on the one occasion I had need to use it. Only caveat with them is that delivery times are leisurely, fine for planned maintenance but can be a pain if vehicle is off the road. Quote

And this is not only the German high approach. I considered to buy them, but did not. Ciao, Marco Edited January 16 by Z320 Quote
Z320 Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 With a closer look this is not a Mapco shaft, but the case is the same Quote
Dale Moore Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 Be interesting to know if the play is in the CV spline or the CV joint itself I would guess the CV joint itself is just a standard of the shelf item It's the shaft assy that's bespoke Dale Quote
trchris Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 (edited) Has anyone got these to give a review? I’m just curious why they are such good value as the old saying “ cheap for a reason “ comes to mind . They probably are excellent value for money so any feedback would be appreciated as l have one rear hub with slight play and possibly needs replacement these maybe the way forward Chris Edited January 16 by trchris Quote
8iggles Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 I couldn't help looking at this post not least because I have literally just fitted the CDD CV driveshafts along with a reconditioned differential. Everything fitted perfectly. Looking at the illustration of these driveshafts I notice cap screws at the diff flange end. I hope there is enough room between the flange and the differential to get these in and tighten them with an allen key. Just a thought........ John Quote
