what colour primer should go under a Yellow to coat so as not to effect the colour?

Grey or white is fine for light colours, for dark its better to use a black as it makes the colour stand up more. First picture below for a Royal Blue car, second for a Galla fly yellow car.

If you are using base coat and clear then white.

If 2k prefer white.

Not under a dark colour though.
