Drewmotty Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 I’m sad to report that we lost Derek (Misfit) Hurford on Saturday night after his courageous fight against long term illness. He passed peacefully at home with his family around him. He was a TR man to the core and will be greatly missed, especially by his local Devon Group. Quote

John Morrison Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 I too am so very sorry to hear this. As others have said a TR man, I would add a TR Register man. Forthright in his views but always ready to listen to an other point of view. my sincere condolences to his family John. Quote
Paul Hogan Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 I've just been informed of the passing of Derek Hurford. This is really sad news because Derek was a long standing member of the club and a great TR man. Many of us owe him a great deal of thanks for his dedicated work on the TR insurance scheme which he developed. His work in this area also brought much needed revenue into the clubs finances. Derek was a long serving member of the management team who gave me no quarter when I was chairman but we always remained friends despite our many differences of opinion as to the club should be run. He was also a great supporter of my coast to coast runs. His illness sometimes prevented him from taking part in some of the longer runs but he was always willing to participate when he could. On behalf of the management team I extend our deepest sympathies to his wife and family but on a personal level, I have lost someone for whom I had the utmost respect. I shall miss him and his enthusiasm for all things TR greatly. Hoges Quote
