Hi All,

My TR4a is on its way back from the body shop after a four month project. I will be left with fitting the brights and just need some direction and advice on fitting the wing (side not top), and door trim. Not sure about fixings and procedure. If there is a YouTube video out there (I have looked),  or some advice it would be v much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Jeff

Hi Jeff,

not too difficult a job but needs to be done carefully.

Have the doors and wings got the rivet holes already in them?   If yes then it is a simple matter if fitting the rivets (special) and then
popping the strips on.

If the holes are not there then you need to drill the holes in straight line (very straight). These are 1/8" dia  items #34 & 36  Here

The end hole on the door is left open for the spigot on the strip.

Warning - when you pull the rivet down hold your free hand around the nose of the pop pliers. This will stop you bashing chunks out of your new paint work.

Hi Roger, thanks for your reply, yes the holes are there already. You mention (Special),  rivets I guess they can be sought from supplier, are they installed with a standard rivet gun?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jeff

have a look at my post above and click on   These are 1/8" dia  items #34 & 36 Here
That will take you to the Moss supplier in the UK but Moss USA should have them.

The standard pop pliers will pull them down but you must either grind the nose of the pliers down to fit the recess or put a thing washer between gun and rivet head.
