My enduring memory of the race….The sound of that big Chevrolet drowning  the short stroke screamers.   Not to mention the rate at which the Chaparral reeled in the Porsche and Ferrari.   All done with a 3 speed automatic and an hydraulic left foot pedal to shift the wing angle of attack.

What surprises me is that no one gets run over on the pit exit lane.
