dblenk Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 needs wider wheels where is the rear spoiler lot of work gone into it Quote
harlequin Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 Reminiscent of what spotty kids did to Vauxhall Astras in the 1990s, just needs some coloured lights underneath. George Quote
MilesA Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 Lister TR6 without the mechanical upgrades? Comfy looking seats though. Miles Quote
Kiwifrog Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 I was going to say it might help if the wings and doors were the same colour, but it wouldn’t! Vomitus Maximus🤮 Quote
cp25616 Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 This has been up for sale for years, guess that's not a surprise to anyone here! You really have to ask WHY? Its hideous. Alan G Quote
JohnC Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 It took me a while to spot what all the fuss is about, but I got there in the end. What was he thinking with that ugly glove box catch??? 🙃 Quote
JohnC Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 It has echoes of the Cologne Capri. Not saying that’s good or bad. Just does. And the proportions are so…wrong. Why did nobody say “stop”? Poor guy. Probably poured his heart and soul into the project and ended up with something nobody dared to say is just awful. JC Quote
Mike C Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 Engineering's a bit weird. Went to a lot of trouble with the carbs to pick up the hottest air from just under the bonnet lid. Quote

Z320 Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 It is a period modification, only scary from our todays view. What will future generations think about what is style and desirable today? Quote
Keith66 Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 Now I know its very much each to their own but I tend to appreciate pretty std spec cars. After all that’s generally why we like classic cars, because of what they were when they were current. So I really don’t like the arches and side skirts but I do like them on an mk1 BMW M3. But for me the seats are nearly as bad as the arches as they look out of place. I even don’t really like my Mk2 MX5 seats, separate head restraints. When I finish my std seats I’ll see how un-comfy they are and decide if to swap them back out. Having said that I’d love to build a Rover 75/MG Zt coupe or MG TF FHC as per the Rover concept cars or build a Triumph 2500S estate with a Stag V8 engine. Now I know they’ve already been done but it would be a nice collection even though they were not production cars. Cheers Keith Quote
Dave McDonald Posted April 26 Report Posted April 26 I’ve never seen Weber inlet trumpets like that before. A sort of downdraught sidedraught. 😜 The anchorage for the carburettor throttle return spring on top of the rocker cover looks like 2 strips of metal straight out of the Meccano box. Dave McD Quote
RogerH Posted April 26 Report Posted April 26 They look like Victorian ear trumpets for the hardof hearing. Roger Quote
TRier Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 Hmmmm, what a massive amount of work went into that car and to a decent standard as far can be seen from the photos but it's a bit like it was an exercise or a challenge. You must do the work well but change as many things as you can, guy with the most changes wins! Wow did he go for it. Quote
Stagpowered Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 If it was done in the late 70s/ early 80s it was probably right on trend for the time, but it's a style that hasn't aged well Quote
