dave bailey Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 Hi Folks. I'm looking to buy a boot seal for my TR5 rebuild, and am a bit confused about the products offered by Moss. The complete seal is £21.60, and by the metre (4xM) is £94.80! The profile looks to be different. Can anyone cast a light on what I should be looking for? Thanks. Dave. Quote

I bought mine on a classic car fair for my TR4A for a nice prive and after years it still works fine. You`ll notice when you look at it end on there is a very slight offset to the tube, put the offset to the outside. Also remember when fitting to a six put the join at the front of the boot to prevent any fume seepage. Stuart. Quote

Rob Salisbury Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Hi, The boot lid seal offered by Rimmers and others under part no.613277 is a fairly accurate reproduction of the original Triumph item, as Stuart says it has a habit of hanging off at the bottom, unless firmly glued in position ( I know this 'cause I have one fitted in my car) and the other problem is that it takes around a year to settle enough to allow the boot to close properly!! My car is fitted with a boot rack so I left a wheel and tyre on the rack while the car was sitting in my garage, worked a treat. Cheers Rob Quote

Trouble is I can't remember which supplier I bought it from, any ideas? I have broatched this request with a couple of suppliers and they think I am an idiot ( rhetorical statement) any help would be appreciated. Alan G Quote
