earckens Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 I have a 1964 TR4 equipped with an electric fuel pump. I do not have issues with it but I would like to prevent having them. I drive not more then a few thousand km's annually, if that, I always fill up with 98 octane and drive the car as if it were a lady. What is the recommended maintenance of this unit? Quote
Hamish Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 Depends on the pump type ? there may be a built in filter that needs to be kept clean. Quote
earckens Posted April 23 Author Report Posted April 23 Thanks, I will check when I get back to where my car sits (southern FR). I have no clue what is in it now and get back here. How often does the filter need cleaning (mileage?)? Quote
RobH Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 Not much maintenance you can do to many types. SU diaphragm-pumps have contacts which could be cleaned but that's about it. Quote
Hamish Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 Filter depend more on the contaminants in fuel and tank condition eg rust. Quote
