earckens Posted June 23 Author Report Posted June 23 Update from my Mallory 2-point settings adjustment. To recap: after 6 years I decided (3 months ago) to verify the points clearance and found them to be at 0.015". I vaguely remember having them set at the time without thinking double or single points have different clearances. This time I set clearance on both at 0.025". We took the car for a long drive (270km) to the Gorges du Verdon (south-eastern France, where we have our secondary residence), and one thing that sprung to attention was the drop in fuel consumption. Before it was like 15l/100km (15.5mpg) , now down to 12l/100km (19.6mpg). This is with Weber 40 DCOE double carburettor and winding, hilly, roads travel. Does it make sense that points clearance would have such an influence? Quote
