GreatOldOne Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 More stuff I’ve been messing with. First up, a mounting plate for another 7FJ / 7FJ-B fuse box to mount over the drivers side of the engine bay on RHD cars; means no additional holes need to be drilled. I’m using this for all the ancillary stuff like my stereo, GPS / CarPlay screen and subwoofer fuses. I’ve run the wiring in and out of the same grommet as the Speedo cable, so completely reversible. Second up, Is an adaptor to allow these door switches to work: https://www.jamespaddock.co.uk/courtesy-light-switch-double-contact-2 They look like the original switches I had on my car (before they combusted… don’t ask 😉) and the replacements specific to TR6’s look rubbish. The only issue with these is the switch stem is too short to reach the door. These space them out enough to allow them to function. Bonus is the additional pair of contacts on the back; I’ve wired this up to a buzzer that sounds if the lights are still on when the drivers door is opened. It just needs a slightly longer screw (#6 x 3/4” is what I’ve used) I believe - but don’t quote me - that this should work on all TRs with the same door pattern… which I think is TR250s, 5’s & of course 6’s as it fits on mine. if there’s enough interest, I may put them up for sale on the website 🙂 www.greatoldone.co.uk Quote
Andy Moltu Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 Interestingly that switch looks the same as the Stag ones. However, as you have found they are a bit shorter that the original “yellow” ones fitted to some early mk2 Stags. if you are making some, I would like a pair please. Quote
