guyvass Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 Hi. does anyone have a set of lengths for 1972 RH drive TR6 brake pipes? Struggling with using the so-called ready-made pipe kits! Thanks, Guy. Quote
jerrytr5 Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 They never fit. Get yourself a pipe flaring tool, you will not regret it. Jerry Quote
StevecTR4 Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 There is some information on the Rusty Beauties website that may be of some help. No experience to suggest if is accurate but a good starting point. https://www.rustybeauties.com/_files/ugd/111565_9d827c04e24544a797197a8632c7c396.pdf Steve Quote
Tim 72TR6 Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 It you intend to start with a length of brake pipe or if you want to cross check the kit, a piece of string helps. I use the old ones as a basis and use the string to measure the pipe length ( I'd leave them slightly long if you are starting from vanilla pipe and then finalise the length before you do the final flare). Its useful to use the old as pattern assuming they are right) and use masking tape to hold the old and the new pipes together progressing along the pipe to put each bend in. I used this method to copy the pipe that ran underneath the car at the front and found it worked well. Tim Quote
