Stain of paintwork

Hi all

I have a strange 'stain' that has recently appeared on body of my red 6. It was resprayed in the mid 90s and overall the paintwork looks god.

But there is a now a stain on the boot lid - a sort of yellow shadowy mark about 4 inches long- is the best description I can offer.

My go too for marks, dull paint and scratches, has tended to be T-Cut. But T-cut has no effect at all on this stain.

Any advise on what I might do to remove this unsightly mark would be appreciated?

Do you know what it was painted with? i.e cellulose/2K/2k Basecoat and lacquer as it`ll make a difference to how you tackle it.

is it related to a fuel spill or other stuff on it ?
