Am I right in thinking Moss doesn't have any retail outlets in London?  The Feltham outlet has closed and there are no others in or around London?

That’s good to hesr, Ian!  Long may it continue. There’s something about a sales counter — Roger H. took me by Moss west of London one time, and the experience at a shop that size, dedicated to vintage British cars, was a real treat.

Google street view brings up a shabby block of residential buildings for that Rimmers address. Confusing.

That is the building of Rimmer Bros. in Lincoln.

That looks quite snazzy. Unless things have changed, life on the other side of the counter is a bit slow.

There is still a TR parts outlet in West London but not Moss. The TR Shop, although in a less solubrious premises, has afar better knowledge base
to help supply the correct part.

TRGB are similar,  they are based on an old mushroom farm  so not very swanky but a really good knowledge of our cars and Rob behind the parts counter is a walking TR encyclopedia

Always my go to suppliers, although theyve had to clean it up a bit for H&S reasons inside it always used to remind me of Auntie Wainrights IYKYK. 😉😄

I remember going to The TR shop in the 1980's (I think...)

It reminded me of the sort of small radio spares shop you found in the Edgeware Road. Spit and sawdust on the floor.

If I recall correctly the parking was a nightmare.

The parkng did improve with parking meters etc. But now it is all given over to bicycle lanes etc.

The better knowledge base could be a result of TR Shop being only linked to Triumph.

I think it was a very old style Sainsburys in its day, behind some boarding you could see the old green tiles that Sainsburys used to have in their stores.

A week or so ago we went to a very nice area just behind Shepherds Bush Green and were shown where The Mr Sainsbury used to live, it also had green tiles on the front face of the property. Very distinctive.

TR Shop is almost always my first call -- never a bad/cheap part, cheery chappies on the phone, easy to pay, fast delivery.

+1 Rimmers - its a waste of natural resources to produce rubbish. Moss will now be no different.

I remember as a teenager there was an original style Sainsburys in the nearest town, double fronted shop with counters down either side to the back of the shop.

The one in Edgware Rd, West End of London you had to queue and pay at each different counter, meat for one, veg another, baked beans on the next etc, cash was king, credit cards, what are they?!!

I used to spend hours (or felt like it) in Kingsbury NW9 Sainsbury queuing up at the different counters for food shopping for my Step mum. The cash counter was always at the back of the shop. The stamped lion eggs were  always inspected under a light bulb. No stealing in the shop but then that did not enter anyones head but behind a counter very secure. Would supermarkets ever rethink that I wonder?

Those were the days my friend (and I remember that song)
