Steve-B Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 (edited) We're heading over week Thurs in our '73 TR6 and stopping over nr. Le Touquet for the night, where the next day there's a gathering of UK cars parking up on the beach before heading to Laon for the 3 day 35th anniversary weekend. Would be nice to meet up / know if you're going as this is a banner year and the event has ±700 vintage cars....(yet I'll send pictures)... Edited May 25 by Steve-B Quote
JuliaP Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 Hi, yes, we are going with the Lea Valley TR Group. A few of us are staying in Le Touquet for a few days beforehand and will be at the gathering on the Friday, before heading for Laon. Quote
Steve-B Posted May 14 Author Report Posted May 14 Excellent - we’re in a carmine red TR6 with a wind deflector behind our seats. Look forward to meeting on Friday! Quote
Steve-B Posted May 25 Author Report Posted May 25 (edited) Headline: Loads and loads of TRs, and some amazing car porn 🤣 Meeting up on the beach at Le Tourquet Friday was great and can definitely recommend the Hermitage at Montreuil as a stop over. Parc Loch Sat morning was just astonishing! Seeing the brand spanking new 2026 Morgan was top for me, as was the gaggle of Ferrari Dino’s. The Sat AM run on Route B was great, until the food at the lunch stop caused many to abandon it and go into Route A which we skipped as the 33C heat was just too much for us in our TR6(tho it was fine) so skipped the afternoon run. Sat with some of the North London and Lee Valley owners under trees praying for wind! Sun Parc Ferme was great fun, as was the town hall square where we ran into a mate we’d not seen since a GoME Rallye in 2002 who’s Caterham was parked on the square. We only stopped because the Driver was overheating, not the car near bottom of hill on our first run. Gotta admire the organisation to shoehorn 700 cars into the tiny town is one helluva a logistical challenge well done. We did a second run, which had far fewer cars, did a few high fives with kids and got sprayed with freezing cold water by the locals which was great fun. Now in Le Tourquet before a Le Shuttle back tomorrow. For now, I’ve posted some pictures & videos on Insta @steveholio and probably some here when we get home! Ecstatic all the updates and new parts we installed that are helping keep the car cool. Might have a plug fouling but that’s nothing, besides a new rattle. Edited May 25 by Steve-B Quote
