Nobbysr Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 Hi Folks Am in thr process of finishing my Tr3A rebuild and have looked at fitting the rubber seals that clip into the holes in the bulkhead, but on both sides of the car the top hole appears to be too big for for the clips so my question is, Is the top hole a drain hole and the start of seal is at the smaller hole not the first large hole hole??? kind regards Steve Quote
stuart Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 That just looks like someone has tried to use a different clip in the hole and in consequence enlarged the hole, the seal should finish beneath the capping once that’s fitted, Stuart Quote
Ralph Whitaker Posted June 1 Report Posted June 1 Depends how original you want to be, but I went for a self adhesive seal, now been in place for 7 years and does away with those horrible metal clips that damage the paint. Ralph Quote

Ralph I like this idea though the ends should be tucked under the dash capping IMHO MD Quote
Nobbysr Posted June 2 Author Report Posted June 2 It does look that the seal would cover the top hole . i prefer to use the cips and original seals as the rest of the car is original cheeer steve Quote

They get everywhere — especially silicone oils and defoamers — and can foul up adhesion to surfaces Perhaps a rubber plug or some butyl rubber dum dum as an alternative? Edited June 3 by Don H. Quote

Stuart. Didn`t know how to finish the draft excluder at the time, I did try to bend the self adhesive seal up under there but it wouldn`t conform nicely with the acute corner so ended up just fitting as shown.
